Wow Turkey, I thought I was the only one to watch Beakmans World and Bill Nye. I liked those shows because they made science fun to learn about.

I am a Library of Congress when it comes to T.V shows. By the way, why do you always type in blue? It hurts my eyes. Anyone else share this sentiment?

Also, I will continue to update the list. Just wanted to let you know.

Sorry if it hurts your eyes. I just always type in blue. But back on topic. If you really want to watch some good shows, look to Adult Swim. They have some really great shows.

That's right. I'm bringing this back.
I was going to make a new thread about TV shows to pair with the Reality Shows thread. What I wanna know is: What TV shows can you just not miss?
I've become a huge fan of CSI but I usually miss the new ones because I work on Thursday nights. Thankfully, it's played ad nauseam on Spike and Showcase. I also live for ER.

Yay! Thank you Modestly Hot Girl for brinning my topic back to life. One show I can't miss, MXC. It's hillarious to watch.

There are no shows that I just can't miss. I haven't had one of those since The X-Files was cancelled. Or at least since it jumped the shark.

The only two shows that I am ever disappointed about missing are Lost and Alias. I never thought I'd get into Lost (actually, I had nearly given up on television as a medium entirely), but I did. And Alias is just fluff, but I enjoy it.

Other shows I still watch when I happen to be near a TV when they're on: The Daily Show, South Park, Mythbusters, Iron Chef, Good Eats. That new game show Distraction is pretty entertaining, if hokey.

But I'm about this close to cancelling my cable. It's bloody expensive and I only watch for a couple hours each week, and those hours could be better spent.

I'll watch The Discovery Channel and The History Channel if I see something interesting on (like Pompeii, which was on last night. I stayed up way to late watching it.), and there are shows that I watch daily, like The Simpsons and The Andy Griffith Show (no, he's not taped on my television.)

The Simpsons is my all-time favorite show, and The Andy Griffith Show is just so darn intertaining to watch. Except for the episodes without Don Knotts.

I also watch The Travel Channel some. It's got some interesting stuff (I love shows about roller coasters.)

It should go without saying that I am a Simpsons fan, I think it's hard to be a TV junkie without liking that show. I also love Married With Children, South Park, Chappelle's Show, Mythbusters, American Chopper (I AM THE SKINNY MIKEY!), The Price is Right, and most any sports program(even the stuff that comes on at like a million o'clock on ESPN 27).

Right now, my favorite show is 24. It's really worth watching, and I love the way the story progresses in "real time". It's rare that I actually get into a miniseries/serial show. Most of the time, I see an episode or two and decide to watch something else. 24 makes me want to buy a Tivo....

I forgot to mention, the only reality show that I enjoy is Airline. If you've not seen it, check it out on A&E. It's a lot of fun, though sometimes in a Cops sort of way. Unlike your average "reality" show, this one has actual, um, reality. And Gina is cute.

Reality in a reality show?!?!? What's gotten into the folks over at A&E?!?!?

I suppose I can't competely shut myself of from the "reality" genre, at least not until that one with Tommy Lee comes out.

Another show I've gotten really into (yes, I'm Canadian) is Degrassi. Kevin Smith was guest-starring last night, but I had class, so I taped it. But I didn't rewind the tape all the way (to preserve Screen Savers) so it got cut off. :O I tried to find somplace to download it last night, but to no avail. :((

Oh dear god, that is gonna be disasterous. There's gonna be more censoring in that show than in this years Super Bowl Half-Time show.

Banky: I dunno. Get a pizza, watch Degrassi Jr. High.
Holden: You got a weird thing for Canadian melodrama.

I also enjoy "Airline". It sure is funny.

One time they told a man to take a shower because he smelled so crappy.

It was awesome.

One time they wouldn't let a lady board because she had eight tubs of "I Can't Believe it's Not Butter!" in her carry-on bags...hehe

Anyway, I like Baseball Tonight, anything else with baseball, anything on G4TV and a lot of crap on Discovery Channel: HD Theatre...I love High-Definition TV... :)

Our family is a bunch of Simpsons fanatics, as am I, so I can safely say that The Simpsons is my favorite TV show. I also like Family Guy, Spongebob, and Futurama.

If someone at school says they watch The Simpsons, I blow up in their face and start naming all these facts and episodes untill they run away. It's so much fun.

I always wonder if I should find another show, since I watch it twice a day, have The Simpsons silly putty, six posters, The Simpsons Trivia and Clue, a lamp, a calander, a NES game (Bart Vs. the Space Aliens), a PS2 game (Road Rage), a DVD, and I even did two art projects on Homer Simpson.

But this was really just to show off. :)

The Simpsons...hmmm...good show and all but I'm sensing the fall of Matt Groening. He seems to be running out of jokes. But more often than less he pulls a TBC on us with a string of bad eppies and then has the best one ever. Yes. Whatever.

You know, Matt Groening doesn't write the episodes all by himself. There are writers out there who actually make The Simpsons funny, but I do think Matt Groening helps write 'em.

Dang. Forgot. However, The Simpsons is running out of jokes. They've used just about everything they can. Still good but it's been killed through overuse.

Yeah, Kevin Smith's love for Degrassi is no secret. He's been approaching the director for a while trying to get on. He's doing a 3-episode arc, in which he'll apparently try to steal Caitlin from Joey. He's said in interviews that she's his dream girl, and from the bit of last night's episode I did get to see, he did at least a little ad-libbing (asking Caitlin to never leave his side for the rest of his life, or something). Oh yeah, and Mewes shows up too.

All this talk about the Simpsons... My last name is Simpson, and my first starts with "H"... Being the only H. Simpson in the phone book really sucks... At least my middle name isn't a "J"...

Maybe he should just give her his Chasing Amy (chasing Joey) story. That'd hook Caitlin for sure.
Man, I wish I could watch DeGrassi here... Kevin Smith is the man, for, I too have a thing for girls that say "aboot".

Actually, from what I hear, the show is pretty good, and I've had people tell me it might be my kinda show, although I'm not into drama all that much.

Guess I'll never know.

I know Degrassi airs in the US on a network called The N, but I don't know what that is. From what I hear, the episode airings are about 2 or 3 weeks behind us. In any case, it's super great (Ohh, the drama! The scandal!) and you all should try to catch it if you can. I've even got my (24-year-old) boyfriend hooked on it, so it is guy friendly.

Speaking of Family Guy (a few posts up) I thought I saw a commercial on Fox for a new show called "American Dad" or something like that. Looks to be from the Family Guy people, and I was wondering if anyone knew anything about it?

Don't worry, 'FireBird', I feel for ya...

I'm the same way, I'm stuck with my parents because my two siblings are at college, or out of college...
