And of course, my favorite, Kraftwerk.

^I dunno, considering "Thriller" is one of the best-selling albums of all time.

Joy Electric has been in the game for about 13 years now. I think it's about time for an album of his to go platinum.

Thursday. Seriously, they're awesome musically and vocally. But, I kind of want them underrated. Keeps them away from being pop culture tainted.

The Barenaked Ladies. They got fame with One Week, but they're so much better than that, and have had great songs since them.

Aquabats are pretty good, just obscure.

Considering that I am able to buy all of their albums at Best Buy, I think they are pretty well known.

I think individual artists are underrated worse than bands. Every time I see someone make a topic about music artists, they always just say "bands" and never "artists." Josh Groban and John Mayer deserve better than that. But as for underrated artists/bands:

--Michael Jackson (Gotta agree with RFPT--he's done some fantastic music, but if you admit to liking him anymore, it's as if you're a pedophile yourself. People need to realize that liking someone's creative works doesn't mean you advocate every single facet of their lives. Otherwise, no one who takes a moral stance against homosexuality would ever admit to liking Elton John, George Michael, Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Walt Whitman, Judy Garland, Ian McKellen, or a host of others.)
--Sixpence None the Richer (the album with their hit "Kiss Me" had WAY better songs on it that never got the same attention)
--Ludo
--Lisa Gerrard
--Dead Can Dance
--Violaine Corradi
--Klaus Bedelt

That's all I can think of for now...unless you wanna add some fool of a wannabe named George Gidley. ;)

Thin Lizzy.

I have always felt that Thin Lizzy has been overlooked by most rock fans. Which is really sad, because this band has had as much of an influence on modern music as Led Zeppelin. There style was very unique, two lead guitars and lead bass was not heard of at that time.

Amazing. Who doesn't love them? "Sandy Face" is a love song about a girl with a sandy face. "Pool Party," "Captain Hampton and the Midget Pirates," their cover of Knowledge was amazing. Even all of their more serious stuff like Fashion Zombies and Awesome Forces is awesome.

The band with the dude over there in my avatar. Couldn't sell more than half the seats in many venues on their summer shed tour last year. That band is The Black Crowes.

But underrated is good, because I can see my favorite band in smaller clubs for less money. And for my money I get 3 hours long sets, completely different setlists every night, and until last fall the chance to see Kate Hudson up close and personal. How many other bands play over 130 different songs during a tour, and still hardly play anything from that one crappy album nobody likes? You can go to multiple shows and never hear the same song twice. That's how all bands should do it.

That is my vote for most underrated band. They just happen to also be my favorite.

This man here speaks the truth.

Another great underrated rock act: The Stunning. (In fact, whoa, they don't even have their own Wikipedia article. Must sort that out soon.)
