Sorry, I didn't mean to imply you were. Just thought it'd help. :)

Well as far as Strats go... let's see. I think you're on the right track with the Squier. Cheap, but good guitars. All I know is you can't go wrong with an Epi. Personally, I think that'd be the best bet for a beginner.

No harm bro', and it did help. Now I can speak some guitar. :)

Yeah, I've talked with my brother who has been playing for about 12 years and he suggesting the Epi as well. He said it was really all about my style, but the Epi is going to last. He was all on about how the Epi would last me until I had money for whatever I wanted. He also said, that if I could talk mom into throwing out some extra cash, just to go ahead and get a Fender Strat Standard. lol She shot that down, saying I need to learn to play first. I'm all cool with that though.

Thanks for the help Parlod. I'll be waiting on iand's opinion as well, whenever he gets on. You should click my sig sometime as well. ;)

I'd be willing to add some rhythm guitar and/or vocals, high pitched screeches or normal singing. LET'S DO IT!

Guitarist joke, anyone?

How many lead guitarists does it take to screw in a lightbulb?

Quote:
2. 1 to do it, 1 to argue that he could do it better and faster.

Bassist joke?

So a kid's dad signs him up for bass lessons. The first day, he comes home from the lessons. His dad says, "How'd bass lessons go?" the boy says, "Great! I learned two notes on the top string!"

The next day he comes home from bass lessons. His dad asks, "How were bass lessons today?" His son says, "Great! I learned 2 notes on the 2nd string!"

Then the next day he comes home, reeking of beer and cigarettes. His dad asks, "Son, what the hell happened at lessons tonight?" And the boy says:

Quote:
I didn't go. I had a gig.

Well, I got those Blackouts. Now all I need to do is get a camera, eat a large dinner, and find out Dewy's mailing address.

If you want a strat, you could get a f'real Fender for around $400, about the same price as an Epi Les Paul.

Yeah, Squiers are cosmetically the same. The sound leaves a lot to be desired from the Fender look.

I'm so torn its not even funny! Okay, so my mom may be willing to get the Standard Fender. I will most likely have to pay for all of my equipment though. I'm willing, but I don't know which I want. One thing that will help decide is this:

Does the Standard Fender have a set neck or is it bolt on? It doesn't specify, does anyone know? I most definitely do not want a bolt on neck.

The Fender Strats have a bolt-on neck joint.

Wikipedia says so.
It's over on the right column next to "Neck joint."

Standard Strat is the most comfortable guitar I've ever played, though, the neck joint doesn't faze me.

It doesn't bother me either. They're nice to play.

Well, my brother had an Ibanez and it was a bolt on and he was constitenly having to fix it and what not. So I want to stay away from them, but I guess it doesn't really matter if a company like Fender makes it. It'll probably be good quality then, but yeah, I don't know, I would like to not have a bolt on because of passed experiences. Like I said though, it was probably just because it was Ibanez.

Now the decision is even more difficult to me, either guitar will be beautiful. Maybes I shoulds flips a coin.

Go try them out.
You can't look at a guitar, read its specs, and determine if it's right for you. You need to see if you can connect to the guitar... by that I mean play it comfortably and enjoy the sound.
Fenders are lighter, LPs are usually heavy, but I'm not going to decide for you.
Also, the issue of the neck, just realign it with an allen wrench on occasion and you should be ok.

I still thinking of what I want though before I goes.

Well, you've narrowed it down to two, both are within the same price range. Don't make a final decision just yet.

New amplifier. It's a Vox AD30VT. I like it a lot. Check out this BEAST.

Awesome. Makes me wish I had money.

Also, POST YOUR AMP SETTINGS.

I have a Spider III so I actually use 4 but I'll post the one I use the most.

Channel: Insane
Gain: 6
Bass: 4
Mid: 9
Treble: 7
Reverb: 2

I got it used for like 160 bucks. :) It's got great tone (it has a tube). You should hear it on it's cleaner channels. Mmm. And it's freaking LOUD.

My most used amp setting:
Channel - US HiGain
Gain - 3/4 and all the way up
Bass - 1/3 of the way up
Mid - 12 o' clock
Treble - 2/3 of the way up

Oh god yes. My friend has a Vox, and when I tried, I fell in love with it. I really liked the flanger and the auto-wah on it.

The friend of mine that has, of course, also has a Strat. Too bad he can't play it. :/

Okay so I need a bit of help.

I need to see if there's any sheet music to a certain song, ideally not tabs, but classical fingering.

How would I go about doing this search? All I can come across are tabs. :-|
