Well, maybe not stamp collecting, since you probably want to date other girls EVENTUALLY. |

I told you man, REBOUND! Find some skinny nerdy girl with low self esteem, make her feel like crap, and then ask her out.
Works 90% of the time, other than punching her in the gut. |

I just dont like the idea of those things. And too dangerous. Also, everyone I know who met on one of them wouldnt suggest that anyone else do the same, in retrospect. |

I asked a girl to the dance today, and she said yes. I've never gone to a dance with anyone before, so I'm not exactly sure what to... do. So I'm nervous, but I'm pretty excited. |

don't feel obligated to only dance with her. but you're only allowed to slip drugs into her drink. only one date rape per dance. |

Just be cool and be yourself. Crack some jokes while you're standing around with either her friends or your friends, or whatever group of people you might be sitting or standing with. Make sure they're good jokes. Just have a good time and show her that you're having fun. And whatever you do, don't forget to dance! |

And if that ain't your scene, don't do the lame freshman year thing when you just wallflower it, and make fun of the kids who are having a good time. Jet it, and find something better to do.

Luckily we're both already friends, so I'm fairly comfortable hanging around her. Plus, we have a lot of the same friends, and there's no one in my grade that I haven't talked to at least once (it's a small school). So first impressions is one thing I don't have to worry about, thankfully. The main problem I'm having is the "social norms" and whatnot. For instance, until a few minutes ago, I was under the impression that asking someone to the dance implied that you like them. Apparently not. So there's definitely other things I'm not educated about that I probably should be. Darn rules... |

I wish someone would ask me out... As a girl I love a guy who likes to talk to me and actually carry on a coversation and who would dance with me. So have a convo about something you both like and dance!!But if your not a great dance don't make a big deal out of saying "Oh I can't dance" or make a fool of yourself (like breakdance) just have fun and be yourself and make sure she is having a fun time too. Don't shift eyes around the room the whole time while ya'll are slow dancing, but don't stare at her the whole time. Look at her with affection and love. Oh another thing, If she wants to hang out with her friends a while LET HER!!!Its one thing to be date but its another thing to be obnoxious(DON'T BE)! Hope this was helpful !!!

Yay for you, Ju Ju. I've only been to a couple dances, because I usually don't have any luck with the ladies. Just be cool, and pray the music doesn't suck.

School dances always have the worst of musics. It is reason number 2 of why school dances suck. |

Yeah, I've gone to a few of these dances before, and yeah, the music sucks. Every once in a while they'll play a couple good songs (Once they ended with Stairway to Heaven) but usually the music is pretty bad. Thanks for the help, guys. |

It is reason number 2 of why school dances suck. We have okay music at our school. Our school dances play nothing but beach or rap music(that's right NO rock T-T!!!)and they play it over and over until you get sick of it but actually its just the first hour. Yeah so ours kinda suck. Your welcome Ju Ju

I tried asking one girl out a few weeks ago after giving her a turquoise/lapis lazuli pendant necklace, but that didn't work out so well. So yeah, still no girlfriend. EDIT: Yeah, music for school dances generally sucks, or is really repetitive. For instance, at the Homecoming dance this year, they played Crank That (Soulja Boy) four times. The other music was rap or Spanish music, both of which don't appeal to me too much. The DJ was also a jerk. Even though I was the first one to suggest a song to him for the night (One More Time by Daft Punk), and even though he said he'd play it, he didn't. Same goes for my suggestion for Captain Jack. >: ( |

So yeah, still no girlfriend. Well, you kinda started off wrong. If you want a girl, be her friend first let her get used to you then ask her out. Giving her a necklace right off the bat is kinda begging her to ask you out. |

I've been one of her best friends for a year and a half.

So, got back from the dance a bit ago. Went pretty well. Started out slow, I was kinda nervous for a while. I started getting relaxed eventually, though - stopped caring so much about if I made a fool of myself and just got into it - and then I had a good time. They only played four slow songs, which was kinda disappointing. And for the first one, my date went to the bathroom right before it started and came out right after it ended, so naturally I was a little sad about that. But we danced together for the other three, so that was nice. Our friends jokingly making fun of us while we danced gave us something to talk/laugh about, so it wasn't awkward, which I'm thankful for. Plus, they ended with "Stairway to Heaven", so that was good too. Overall, a good night
