Like, I've really, passionately despised it ever since I gave my girlfriend some roses 2 years ago, and she--after giving them to somebody else--destroyed them for no reason that I could see. It doesn't sound like much, but it really upset me.

So, uh, yeah. That's why I despise V-day.

With money.

And it wasn't really a "serious relationship," I just cared about this girl enough to buy something for her.

Also, I had like, 50 dollars saved up, so 10 dollar roses was nothin'.

It is a pretty stupid holiday. You shouldn't give a gift or do something for someone just because it's a certain day of the year, you should do it any day you feel like it, because you want to.

That didn't stop me from buying some overpriced chocolates for my girlfriend, though :p

And she gave me some homemade cookies :) (which was a much better idea than mine)

I gave my girlfriend the plushie that I made her (by hand, I have the holes in my tongue, from holding the needle in my mouth, to prove it) and she loved it. =]

Still girlfriend-less. Ah well, there's so many other things to do at this point in time, even if I do like somebody (though I must admit that it's more of a friendship thing now, since the person rejected me months ago).

I really liked this very fickle girl, and she really liked me for awhile, but we never worked out because we would passionately hook up for a few days and then she's be like, "We need to cool things down. I think we're going too fast." Three weeks later the cycle would continue. I'm working on the third time right now, but I think it's time to just call it quits with her. I can't handle that kind of emotional runaround from someone.

I tend to whine whenever a good Roman holiday is christianized to be so much less fun.

Lupercalia was a festival of Roman fertility, in which a wolf would be feasted upon, thongs would be made of its flesh and women would be whipped with said thongs to ensure fertility. Casual intercourse was common. Now we have valentines day, where chocolate has replaced wolf thongs and dumb poems have replaced casual intercourse. Lame, if you ask me.
