Post subject:  Translate Your Name/Whatever Day '07

I guess its time to revive an older Forum Holiday.

Translate Your Name day was created by Beyond the Grave back in the 2005, and it was pretty good despite a few conflicts with how it'd work out with some users whose names couldn't be translated easily. It is on Labor Day, meaning that the real Forum Holiday starts tomorrow.

The point of this is simple: Translate either your real name or forum name with the translator of your choice. For those of us whose username has words tied together (i.e. Acekirby or DS_Kid), put spaces between the words to make the translations come out right (i.e. Ace kirby or DS Kid).

Here's a free translator I found quickly through the wonders of Google. It can translate your name into several different languages.

Since our usernames can no longer be changed (whereas they could back in '05), put the translated thing in your location, avatar, signature, or someplace else that is viewable with ease. I guess you could also put some of your posts/avatars/signatures/interests/occupations/whatever into another language, but try not to overuse it.

Here is the original thread for the holiday.
In 2005, I translated my username into Dutch and apparently got DS_Goat in a translation back to English. :P This year, I'm going to go with Spanish as my language of choice, making me "Cabrito del DS".

Poor translations, but that's OK because "Inverse Tiger" isn't grammatically correct in English either.

Japanese: 反対のトラ (Hantai no tora)
Chinese: 逆虎 (nì hǔ)
Ancient Greek: anapalin tigris (don't feel like messing with Greek letters right now)
And the good-sounding Spanish: Tigre Inverso

I think we should try translating any words on sigs and avatars to another language. I'm gonna try and translate my sig (which is some comic Alberto made a long time ago).

Pienso que estoy preparado para el día de fiesta del foro mañana, como hice un rotor que decía a “cabrito del DS” en doce diversas idiomas. También traduje mi localización al español. ¿Consejo sobre lo que debo hacer con mi avatar?
I think I'm prepared for the Forum Holiday tomorrow, as I made a rotator saying "DS Kid" in twelve different languages. I also translated my location to Spanish. Any advice on what I should do with my avatar?

To those of you whose usernames don't work: what about your real names? There's bound to be some language that changes it to something different.

¿Él vendió los huevos? (Spanish.)
Verkaufte er Eier? (German.)
A-t-il vendu des oeufs ? (French.)

But what would be odd is to go English, to a language, then translate that to English gain.

He sold eggs? (Spanish.)
Did it sell eggs? (German.)
Did it sell eggs? (French.)
Okay, mine wasn't that great, but with complicated sentences, it gets fun:

Sentence: I like the eggs he sells because the eggs are good that are sold.

Because as for me the thing egg which is sold is good, the egg which he sells is liked. (Japanese.)

Dutch and German versions = win.

Well, you could break it down to the words that make it up.

so stupendous seven = siete estupendos (spanish)

I never gave you permission to do this. If I wanted it I would have made it myself.
