Someone has to play the Devil's Advocate, and it might as well be me.

Darn, this was fun.

And, referring the poll they just had, Francona (sp?) would be making a dumb decision to play Ortiz. Let him rest up his knee for the potential games 6 & 7 at home, and possibly play the possible clinching game at Coors.

No, because if Francona sits Papi, the Rockies will just walk Manny.

My brother and I are watching the Boston College/VT game alongside the baseball game.
When Youk came up to bat this inning, BC was losing the game 10-0. By the time Youk's at bat ended, BC was winning the game 14-10.
After this inning, we get to watch the preview to the new season of 24 on the DirecTV blimp.

EDIT: And by the way, my ears are bleeding from the Boyz II Men rendition of God Bless America.

Papelbon is a God among men.

Your overconfidence is really annoying.

Referring to the games without the DH, I think they need to leave Youk in. He's been red hot this post season, equal to or greater than Ortiz, and you need his defense, too.

Judging by the way Okajima pitched tonight, I assume he's the God of all Gods. Made the Rockies look like little-leaguers.

Hey, you have to give the Rockies respect for making it this far. This is their first World Series in their 15-season history.

Okajima is brilliant. Most underrated middle-to-late reliever I've ever seen.

I never said I didn't respect the Rockies. I think they're a fantastic team. Easily the best the NL had to offer. I just don't see them winning four games in a row.

Okay, when I refer to Okajima's two innings, I mean no discredit to the Rockie's postseason. You know I've been rooting for them all postseason, and you know I think they are as deserving as anyone to win this.

I'll say it one more time.
As much as I want the Rockies to win this, I just know in my heart that so far, the first two games have prefaced the entire series.

Oh snap, Papelbon picked Holliday off at first. Awesome, one inning to go.

Sonofa--

OK, Rockies will win all 3 at home, then they'll still be hot enough to win Game 6 at Fenway.

These aren't your daddy's Red Sox. They seem to play their best in elimination games. Ask the Yankees and ask the Indians, they will tell you first hand.

And the Rockies play their best at Coors Field. So they'll win all 3 games there and have a one-game advantage when they go to Fenway.

One thing I don't get: people keep saying the Rockies are going to hit really well because of the thin air and because the ball's going to carry farther.

Uh...the Red Sox are a slugging team. Their hitters are going to benefit just as much.

Those are the only ones you need to mention and your list is better that Ian's.

If it were June, Matsuzaka and Okajima would be on that list.

Hey Ian, here's your crow.

Now, did you want Original Recipe or Extra Cripsy?

Yeah, but the other three just add to it.

Yeah, but the other three just add to it.

And for the World Series alone, you could also throw in Ellsbury.

Get off my back, Gravy. There's still Game 4 tonight. And I don't care if they win or lose. The Rockies came out of nowhere to make it to this Series.

Quit acting like we made a bet on it.

Your overly high level of overconfidence made it hard to resist, and don't say that would have been any different if the roles were reversed.

Ian, don't make overconfident posts about how your team is going to dominate and then say you don't care afterward. That makes no sense.

I smell the Rockies rolling over and dying tonight. I really hope Lester wins; what a story that would be, eh? Battles back from cancer to pitch the winning game in the World Series?

Pretty much everyone but Julio Lugo...

I know, that sounds really cool, doesn't it? Almost sounds like a movie plot.
