Padres and Rox played 22 innings last night. 22 innings. 22. Innings.
And we lost. Peavy threw 8 innings, with no runs allowed, and 11 Ks.

That had to have been the most interesting baseball story I've read in a while.

22 innings. Only 2 runs for two runs for the winning team. That is the definition of pitchers duel.

Oh, indeed...they had not 1, not 2, but 3 7th inning stretches.

So my bats are crushing Abu...

But my FRIGGIN PITCHING is going to lose me the matchup.

I hate this. You suck, Sabathia. You suck, Verlander. You suck, Burnett.

This seriously comes as a surprise to me. You've been a lower seed, and you're the first one to even get close to knocking me off. I've been beating everyone else like, 10-2.

Have your pitchers reached their minimum IP for the week? If not, that sucks.

I set minimum inning really low. I set it a 3. I think losing a weeks worth of pitching stats simply because you didn't get enough innings is stupid.

3, 5 all I know is that it is always reachable.

I actually reach my minimum every week.

Padres hit their first home run in 106.2 innings tonight! And we scored some more runs! We have now scored 4 runs in our last 40 innings of baseball!

My batting lineup is a juggernaut. You pretty much said so yourself before the year started.

Oh they've pitched plenty of innings. They just suck. If they would just pitch like they are supposed to, I'd be all set.

Abu, why did you pick up Ben Sheets. Granted he is a good pitcher, but he is incredibly injury prone. He has more days on the DL than innings pitched.

Post subject:  Re: BASEBALL!!

I don't let tendencies bother me. I just look for a pitcher who doesn't give up a ton of runs all the time, and wins a lot of games.

So I picked him up because he's a great pitcher and he was available.

I had him on my fantasy team for two years and I don't think I got more that 15 starts out of him in those two years.

Haven't had any problems with injuries yet.

Also, it's funny that a third of my lineup is on DL, yet I proceed to win matchups and lead the league.

Stop saying you're leading the league, it's pretentious and annoying

Also Boston's loss last night was the most brutal I have ever seen. Clay Buccholz gets a one-hitter working into the eighth but gives up a two-run homer. Red Sox lose, 2-1, Buccholz gets the loss, Tampa Bay only had three hits on the night.

HAY EVERY1, DID YOU KNOW I'M LEADING THE LEAGUE?!

SRSLY, I'M LIKE TOTALLY LEADING THE LEAGUE RIGHT NOW! I'M BEIN' REAL! NO LIE!

And Grave, you mean to tell me about how injury-prone Sheets is as you proceed to pick up Kerry Wood? You are RKO'd, right?

Yes, I did pick up Kerry Wood, but not without doing my homework. Since he is no longer a starter, I don't think he will be as injury prone. He is a closer now. That's just one inning of work when they need him. Throwing 10-15 pitches in an appearance is a lot less strenuous than 100 pitches. Plus Lou is very good at taking care of his pitchers.

I finally managed to get a win, myself.

My bats are producing just like we thought before the season began. If the pitchers would just get their game together I'd be all set.

Adam Wainwright added, Nomar dropped.

I could benefit from this move.

Bah! The M's got swept by the Spankees.

Oh and I just picked up Cliff Lee. 5-0 and a 0.93 ERA makes him a worthy pick up.

The problem with my team is that everyone on it has a huge history of major production so despite struggles, it feels like dropping them would be a dumb move.

CARMONA AND SABATHIA BOTH PITCHED COMPLETE GAME SHUTOUTS THIS WEEK HOLY GOD YES I KNEW KEEPING THEM WOULD PAY OFF

In other news almost all my pitchers are strikeout machines.
