But do they really make you a better ball player? Before he had even 750, he popped and grounded out on numerous occasions. In fact, the last 10 home runs before 756, I watched him every night, and I'd say he looked like every other power hitter in the league.

Well, steroids don't help with your aim, only power. And I remember all those times he got jammed and 'popped up'... and many of those pop-ups still found their way over the fence.
But he's almost 44...Yeah... Without steroids, I think he would've gotten 500, maybe 600 if he stayed healthy. Around 1999-2000, he would've gradually declined as he passed his prime. Instead, he got a ton better and had another 'prime' in his late 30s.

Seattle finally took a positive step by canning that sorry excuse of a GM, Bill Bavasi. Hopefully the next GM makes moves that help the team. Getting rid of Sexson would be a big help.

I must say I did not really notice that Dice-K was out this whole time. I mean, I noticed when he went down, but Masterson and Colon really stepped up and filled the role nicely (their last losses notwithstanding). I'll be sad to see Masterson go when Dice-K comes back.

I'm really looking forward to the day Masterson gets a regular job in the rotation. That kid's got a bright future.
