My pet peeve is when people refer to R2-D2 and C-3PO as Artoo Detoo and See Threepio. Yes, I'm a geek. Whatcha gonna do about it? That's what I thought.

There's a difference? Do you mean in when they say it or spell it?

One of my friends is like that he, He dumped his ex over 2 years ago. He still hasn't gotten over it. He says he has but he is lying straight through his teeth. He says he wants her to come back and kiss his feet and say she was wrong, I tell him that it will naver happen, but he doesn't believe me. I am just about ready to go on a rampage, and by rampage I mean knock some sense into him.

Ok - just so you all don't get the wrong idea, I'm really not a bitter, grudge holding kind of girl. This weekend, my ex said something about me that I thought was really awful, considering I'd been trying to be really classy about the breakup. So I was mad. I came to the Peeve thread because I was peeved! Seriously, I'm over it! Please don't think I'm a total jerk! I love people! I seriously do not wish my ex dead or anything - he's not a bad guy, he just makes crappy decisions, like dumpinating me!

Maybe you should head on over here. The topic's a little dead, but a little bumping could do it (and some frustrated people) some good.

Here's one I've recently re-discovered.

Ya know when you get a really BAD sunburn and when you start peeling, light colored skin is revealed?

I HATE THAT. Especially on my forehead. Dangit!

I'm lucky when I burn, about two days later it will be a nice golden tan.

Well, even the article about R2 at the Star Wars Data-Bank on the official Star Wars site refers to him as Artoo-Detoo.

I guess I don't have a problem with just "Artoo" and "Threepio", but when you start spelling out the whole things it does get a little annoying.

Gah! IJ was too fast for me.

Even official Star Wars stuff refers to them that way sometimes.

Peeve: Sneezing sprees. I have a tendancy to go on sneezing sprees, that is when you sneeze several time consecutivly(sp). It bothers me because it means I have to stop everything and wait to stop.

OK, it's official, works sucks. This one kid I work with, who I don't like, was supposed to work the afternoon shift tomarrow (Sat). He said in Tue he would. I had made plans, and the other two guys I work with also did the same. Now he pulls out some crap that he has a work interview that will last a couple hours. First off, who has an interview on a Sat? And what type of place interviews a kid for a part time job for over an hour? Now I'm stuck working the whole day, 10 hours. Even the boss knew that he was lying so he could hang with his girlfriend........yarr.......

I hate people that breathe too loudly... It's just really annoying... Then the problem is heightened when they're wearing headphones because they can't hear THEMSELVES, thus making them even LOUDER. ><

My family generally annoy me too.

I hate arrogant and hypocritical people also, especially if they're egotists too.

I know exactly what you mean. I'll be searching my whole house looking for something, only to find it two days later when I don't need it.....yarr.....

In the same line, I hate looking for something and having a "helpful" individual say that wonderful line: "It's always in the last place you look."
I know this is a staple for many a standup comedian, but it's sooo true. People always say that like you're supposed to go, "ummm, well, according to my plan, I was gonna look in the top drawer last, so, I'm-a look there now. WOW! There it is! Right in the last place I looked for it!"

The worst is when you look for hours (and I have done this), and then you give up, and it has been in you pocket the whole time.
Sometimes, live is so mean to us. :p

Oh, I hate losing stuff. The worst is Game Boy games. I'm always losing those.

One time, I lost my Memory Card for my PS1 games. It had about 50 hours of an FFVII game I had been playing. I really didn't want to start a new game (not to mention shell out 15 bucks for a new card), so I looked for hours.

Luckily, I finally found it. It was in the back of my closet underneath my sleeping bag. I still don't know how it got there.

New peeve: Shortchange shifts.

I worked until 10:30 on Saturday night, then had to be back at work for 8:00 yesterday morning. I literally had to come home, go to bed immediately, then wake up and go to work. But of course I was hungry when I got home, so that plan didn't work very well.

Also, for the Harry Potter release day, I have to work until 2am for the midnight release, then I'll probably have to be back for 10am when the store opens again. Eurgh.

I know what you mean. On Friday's I work from 10am-1030om, then have to be up and at work at 830. And this Saturday all the other employees won't be at work because they are graduating, so I'm going to be working another 10 hour day again....yarr.....

I feel your pain, guys.

When I was working with the military police, I ended up doing this shift change right?

I got off work at 11pm one night. The next morning at 5AM they call me and ask me why I'm not at work.

Them: "You're on the schedule to work the main gate today."

Me: "I just got off work. I'm not coming in"

Them: "But the schedule shows you working. You need to come in."

Me: "The schedule is WRONG! Do you want me guarding the main gate for 12 hours running on 3 hours of sleep? I don't think so! I'm not coming in."

Them: "Ummmm....okay.....call us back whenever you wake up, okay?"

Me: "Sure." *click*

Yeah. I didn't call back. Their stupidity is not my problem.

My pet peeve is definitely Livestrong bracelets and all of the other similar bands. This is especially true if the person wearing it doesn't know what it is for. They really spread like crazy.

Ugh. My sister gave me a breast cancer one yesterday. I think they're okay if you really believe in the cause, but I think they're as ugly as Pat Sajak's butt. No one I am close to has breast cancer, so I don't know why she gave it to me. If you want to support a cause, wear a ribbon, I say. When my best friend's mom was still battling lung cancer (she lost the fight, unfortunately) Christine gave all of us little white-ribbon pendant things to put on our zippers, keychains, etc. I still have it. That kind of thing just seems classier to me.
