I hate it when I get ignored. You know what I am talking about, everybody around you get picked for something, and you get left out in the cold.
I seem to get that same feeling on this forum and many other forums.
I don't think I would be missed if I left. The thought has crossed my mind.

Don't leave BTG! Sure, the others rag on you sometimes, but that's what people do. I'm sure everyone would be sad if you left. You too Sparkle. Sorry if I hurt you in the "Say Something Positive" thread.

I've had that feeling in just about every group I've been in at some point, but it's not worth worrying about. In a Forum like this where several people post all the time (and the number of users is almost 2000) it's hard to make a name for yourself, especially when a lot of us have never met face to face. I'm sure to some degree it would be noticeable if you left - there are several people on here that when they go on vacations for awhile, I do notice something missing. Jessica... err, I mean, Dark Grapefruit, for instance. ;)

Demanding aren't we? Don't worry you are not one of the people who would want to make me leave.

My sentiments exactly! Where would we all be without our wonderful Canadian friend who loves everyone and always makes everyone's day brighter? You really are a sweetheart. :)

No one should feel ignored around here! It's hard to acknowledge everybody specifically, but I do want to say I very much enjoy the insights and contributions everyone has made to this Forum.

My latest pet peeve is people who start a new thread and their post reads something like this:
Quote:
This is a thread for writing your...

Or:
Quote:
Here is where you should talk about your...

Seriously, people. When you write a paper entitled "The Effects of Global Warming," you don't start out your first paragraph with "This is a paper about the effects of global warming." Just give your thread a meaningful title and then launch right into the discussion.

What's worse is when people start a thread like that, and then don't contribute to the discussion. For example:

Quote:
Subject: Puppies
In this thread write about how much you like puppies.

If you start a thread about puppies, I'ma assume you have a puppy or two of your own, so why didn't you write about them? This is better:

Quote:
Subject: Do you love puppies like me?
I have three puppies, named Ishmael, Samael, and Chainmael. I like to feed them bugs. Tell me about your puppies!

Okay, that's all.

(No, I'm not establishing a rule on how you should write your posts, and I'm not gonna start locking threads or banning people because you don't make your posts how I like them. But does this stuff bug anybody else?)

I am peeved by the righteous, the high and mighty, and the all-knowing moralists. I haven't robbed a liquor store or become jealous over material things or said anything bad about anyone behind their backs. Nor have I killed, been gluttonous, dishonest, uncaring, or pessimistic. If I stay away from the bad things, then what do I do wrong! Stop judging me, augh. My head will asplode pretty soon.

My father has a record player and about a zillion records. What really bothers me is when, for some unearthly reason, your records don't want to go back in their sleeves and refuse to fit. Then, you force the record in and you end up ripping one of the sides of the sleeve up. Ugh. I HATE that. It bothers me to no end.

Peeve: I failed my Learner's Permit test. Now I gotta wait until Monday until I can take it again, since I'm going away for the weekend.

The good thing is, I can take it as many times as I need to.

How do you fail your permit test? Faling a Driveing test (I've done that) I can understand, but a permit test. I don't know what the test consists of where you live but, I know here in New York they give you half the answers. Sorry to be hard on ya, Jitka. I remember when I failed my driveing test, I was royally ticked.

I know the feeling, and it can be frustrating. I actually failed my permit test twice when I took it - too much stuff on there that isn't really all that relevant to being a good driver. Things about blood alcohol level and exactly how far away you should park from a fire hydrant or some crap. Though when I took the actual driving test, I passed it first time. Go figure.

Me too, ramrod, me too. But, I still do it every once in a while. But some of my friends are crazy. It's like "L," and "O" are the only keys on their keyboards. X-(

Agreed. Sometimes, like in Online Games, "lol" is okay if used sparingly. Not all the time. That's when it gets annoying.

YES! Especially when the person who started the thread doesn't have anything to say on the topic.

It's even worse when the person who starts a thread doesn't know anything about the topic they started.

Peeve: Being thirteen years old on a softball team made up of twenty to thirty year olds.

Today, we had practice, and I was at third base, and our strongest hitter was up (and he happens to hit the ball down the line at speeds of up to 90-120mph), and he hits a scorching line drive. Probably about 95, 96 mph. I went to catch it (I am a good third-basemen, just not when I hurt myself doing so), and right when I thought it would go in the webbing of the glove, I took one step to many, and the ball hit me square in the palm. And I was wearing the only softball glove I have, on that my dad used when he played thirty years ago. Ya, it really hurts. Even five hours afterward.
When it first hit, it felt like the inside of my hand had just completely shattered, and the bone was gone. But, I'll let you know, I held on to the ball. So, that makes up for it. I'm just scared for the moment I get clocked in the head.

I was slapped in the throat by a line drive when I was in second grade. It was hit by some huge high schooler too. Ouch.

My personal pet peeve with baseball is Bud Selig. He has got to go. There's so much potential he isn't working on because he and his lackeys (ahem) were too busy ignoring steroids and their outward change of baseball. He ruined baseball for me.

I remember when I was thirteen, I was playing third base, I bare-handed a line drive and broke six bones in my hand. Here the best part about it, I held on to the ball.

People who are too chicken to admit how they feel about you.

That's what peeves me today.

I hardly ever admit this either, though. So I guess you could say that I peeve myself. Ah, self-peevage. Probably the worst peeve of all.

People who don't flush:

ugh, just ugh. I was once on the non-flush side of the force but I saw the error of my ways, now I'm a toilet flushing zealot.

Well, last night I was at a late gathering consisting of people I'm really not that good around as far as socializing. I went with one of my closest friends, probably the only one there I could talk to, and following a short swim in the pool, he said he was going to the bathroom for a few minutes, yet stayed in the house for two hours talking to a girl from North Jersey on his cell until after 2:30 AM, which was somewhat later than I wanted to leave. So my peeve is when friends leave you out in the cold to fend for yourself among people who are unlike you in too many ways.

Well, Queenie, I guess I should come right out and tell you that you're a hillarious, wonderful, and very attractive woman with whom I would love to fight crime.. Winners don't do drugs!
You're also fun to beat at iSketch. PRISON BABY!

My biggest peeve (right now) are the crazy people in both sides of this Harry Potter thing.. OK, there's nothing wrong with showing up at midnight to buy a book, movie, etc, when it comes out. I've bought video games like that. There's also nothing wrong with stating that you feel the book contains themes that you would rather not have your children exposed to.
The issue I have is with people who camp out for a week to buy the book, and completely eliminate all activity from their lives to get and read the book (there's nothing wrong with spending time reading, even a lot, it's a good thing for ya), and with the people who buy the book and burn it because it's evil... It's a book; ink on paper. That's all. It's not going to cure cancer, nor is it going to destroy the world.

Oh yea, that and people who pronounce the word "specific" incorrectly... There's an "S" in front of it OR I don't know what instructions have to do with the ocean...

My new pet peeve is people who can't file correctly. I volunteer at the library at a summer reading program. We keep cards with their information and file them at the end of the day. However pretty much everybody except for myself and my shift partner can't file correctly. There are two main simple concepts which nobody seems to comprehend. The first of which is WRITING NEATLY. I can't tell you how many icomprehensible scribbles we get while trying to file. We spent about five minutes trying to figure out this weird one which vaugely looked like "Thospman" and a Simmons that looked like Eimmons. The second concept to proper and orderly filing is ALPHABETICAL ORDER. People cannot seem to alphabatize correctly. Once there was a whole section of the K's I believe that was wrong. That and people don't understand that you have to alphabitize by first name if they have the same last name. Its really a waste of time and a big problem.
