Ugh, I hear ya. I'm just sticking with the Manga. :p

Here's another so-old-it's-new pet peeve: When someone quotes the entirety of somebody else's really long post but only end up replying to a very small bit of it. I think I'll call it too-lazy-to-edit-it-down-a-bit syndrome.

Yesh, I hate that too. Especailly if it's like Did's posts, which are always long.

Hey! That's not true! And to prove my point, here's a 20-page essay...

I will back D-to-the-izzle on this one. His posts have seemed shorter in the R&P thread as of late. Are you getting sick of showing us how smart and worldy you are?

Pet peeve: Didymus getting sick of showing us how smart and worldy he is.

Pet peeve: People who rush to make their post and don't even bother to look it over. People make the most obvious mistakes. It's not going to take you an hour to put a space between "a" and "dog".

Not really. I just don't have as much time to post as I used to.

Is it just me or have drivers in my area gotten dumber just in the last month? "Oh, here comes somebody going 50 MPH and he's already only 100 feet away, let's pull right in front of him then drive ten miles under the speed limit!" God I hate stupid drivers. They make a fun activity like driving less fun.

I have a Pet Peeve and the opposite of a Pet Peeve today!

Pet Peeve: I begin work at Pizza Hut on Wednesday. That wouldn't be so bad, except I have to be Mr. Deals-With-The-Moronic-Customers-and-people-who-call-on-the-phone-with-dumb-questions.

I'm not really a big fan of people like that.

On the plus side, it turns out I won't be getting my wisdom teeth removed tomorrow like I thought, but next July. We decided that it was too close to the start of school for surgery, so I'm going to wait another 11 months. And by then I'll know more about the procedure and I'll be more comfortable about it.

Well that's good. I wouldn't want to be seen at school just after having surgery. That would suck.

And, congrats on the job, Jitatataka

No conga rats are needed, Ikiddy-bikiddy. I'm not looking forward to it.

I actually only have the job because my dad and the manager of that Pizza Hut are old buddies from when they were growing up. My dad pulled some strings, and presto. Jitka gots a job...ka.

Ahh, tis life John. I have to deal with them all the time. I figured out the customers like this at my work : 45% are dumb, 45% are old, 9% are both, and the 1% are the ones that are cool and know what they are doing.

I'll go, Funkstar. Anyway, one of my biggest pet peeves is a good show that has corny lines too often. I can't STAND corny lines. If you can't think of anything good to say, don't say anything at all.

I know what you mean. Like how in the Simpsons (a great show) Bart kept saying "Aye Carumba". He doesnt say it anymore thought which is good. And to MR I couldnt come to your party because I couldnt connect to the chat for some reason.

Here's another. It's a geeky one: People who save things as JPEGs when they should clearly be PNGs. I think I'm allergic to JPEG artifacts. They make me feel like puking my pants.

You've inspired me. I went and read and learned.

http://www.fractalus.com/info/png-jpeg.htm
Quote:
Summary:
There are situations where it's not appropriate to use JPEG. Images with just a few colors, especially large areas of solid color, are better left as GIF or PNG files. Images that require transparency can't be stored in JPEG format. Animations have to be GIF. But any 24-bit image should be considered for JPEG. If the image has sharp transitions, see if anti-aliasing techniques can be applied. (This helps even 3D rendered images, although most 3D software includes anti-aliasing as a built-in feature.)

Also, the LZW patent that Unisys held so tightly has expired, so people can do the GIF thing for free (though with PNGs supported so well, I see no reason to do it.)

Other thing I read:

Quote:
Important warning to readers: loading and saving a JPG repeatedly will accumulate the small errors introduced, so that the image can seriously degrade. Working copies of images should be kept in a lossless format. When you are through with your manipulations, you may then save to JPG once, with minimal loss of quality. Also, please note that not all graphics programs do an equally effective job of JPG compression.

This is a good thing to remember for me. It's a mistake I'm sure I've made a billion times.

Peeve: People who reject good music just because it's old. There is a girl in my class who says that even if a song is cool I shouldnt listen to it because it was out ages ago!!? Like I listen to Prodigy and Metallica even though they are centuries old.

My new pet peeve: completely reinstalling Firefox bacause Google Toolbar for Firefox messed it up. I think Google shook hands with Micro$oft. I mean, I even had to use IE!

What's up with how poorly the Google Toolbar on Firefox works? It totally kills automatically checking for updates. My wife (finally converted) installed the toolbar, and it broke the update stuff so badly that I uninstalled it (the extension, not firefox) and installed the open source whatsitis googlebar extension. That seems to work better, even if it's not as pretty.

If an extension is screwing up Firefox, Start Menu>Run>firefox.exe -profilemanager. Delete your current profile and make a new one. Works.

Don't forget to backup your bookmarks first.

I hate it when you bite on something at the wrong angle, and it gives you toothaches for a day. That sucks.

Heres another one about biting things by accident:

Peeve: Eating your dinner and accidently biting the fork you are using. I don't know if anything can hurt anymore.

I think it could hurt worse if the fork was rigged to asplode at the very moment it is bitten.

But that's just my opinion...

Not being able to work things.

Following the EXACT instructions given and STILL not being able to work things. That's even more annoying.

I'm not even sure if I want to know how you did that.

Were you trying to shove your fork down your esophagus or something?
