When someone brings an anime over to the states then alters it so it's "Safe for children", I.E. decimates the voice-acting, changes major plot points (Luffy TRIPS ON A KNIFE!), turns all the music into hip-hop, and makes it 15 minutes shorter for some crappy intro and recap.

Here's another so-old-its-new pet peeve: When someone quotes the entirety of somebody else's really long post but only end up replying to a very small bit of it. I think I'll call it too-lazy-to-edit-it-down-a-bit syndrome.

On the plus side, it turns out I won't be getting my wisdom teeth removed tomorrow like I thought, but next July. We decided that it was too close to the start of school for surgery, so I'm going to wait another 11 months. And by then I'll know more about the procedure and I'll be more comfortable about it.

Well that's good. I wouldn't want to be seen at school just after having surgery. That would suck.

Pet Peeve: I begin work at Pizza Hut on Wednesday. That wouldn't be so bad, except I have to be Mr. Deals-With-The-Moronic-Customers-and-people-who-call-on-the-phone-with-dumb-questions.

I'll go, Funkstar. Anyway, one of my biggest pet peeves is a good show that has corny lines too often. I can't STAND corny lines. If you can't think of anything good to say, don't say anything at all.

Here's another. It's a geeky one: People who save things as JPEGs when they should clearly be PNGs. I think I'm allergic to JPEG artifacts. They make me feel like puking my pants.

Summary:
There are situations where it's not appropriate to use JPEG. Images with just a few colors, especially large areas of solid color, are better left as GIF or PNG files. Images that require transparency can't be stored in JPEG format. Animations have to be GIF. But any 24-bit image should be considered for JPEG. If the image has sharp transitions, see if anti-aliasing techniques can be applied. (This helps even 3D rendered images, although most 3D software includes anti-aliasing as a built-in feature.)

Important warning to readers: loading and saving a JPG repeatedly will accumulate the small errors introduced, so that the image can seriously degrade. Working copies of images should be kept in a lossless format. When you are through with your manipulations, you may then save to JPG once, with minimal loss of quality. Also, please note that not all graphics programs do an equally effective job of JPG compression.
