Thanks to Alphabet of Nations, I can name a country that starts with each letter of the alphabet.

Algeria, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Dominica, Egypt, France, Gambia. Hungary, Iran, Japan, Kazakhstan, Libya and Mongolia, Norway, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Russia, Surinam. Turkey, Uruguay, Vietnam, West Xylophone, Yemen, Zimbabwe!

(For those unfamiliar, West Xylophone was the the colonial name of the country now known as Marimba. ;))

Who can name all fifty states? If you put a map in front of me, I could (as could most people), but most people can't name all seven dwarves even though they know who all of them are.

I agree, iKi, people are stupid, but being able to name all 50 states one after the other is hardly a fair measure.

P.S. Did I mention people who do really long quotes when only a line or two is relevant to their reply? I think I did.


I don't think he implied that they were being tested on "being able to name all 50 states one after the other." When I read it, the phrase "one of them couldn't even name California" made me think that they were shown a map with none of the states labeled, and were asked to fill in the names. Personally, I'd be worried about switching Vermont and New Hampshire, but that's beside the point.

The only way to recite the 50 states from memory is to sing the song. :)


Yeah. Sorry I didn't elaborate. He put a map in front of us, and we filled them in. We only needed the state names, but I could have named the states, their capitals, and the state flowers. Retained memory from second grade. People asked me how I did so well, and so, I told them that I studied them in second grade, and I asked if they did too. And most of them replied by saying, "No, I learned in fifth grade." And those people only got like, twenty right.
I love geography. Except now that I have to do the capitals on our test tomorrow. I know them, but I just don't want to do the extra work. :p

Well, I finally had a little argument with my mom, and between dodging arrows I persuaded her into giving me 5 dollars a week.

Yeah, that annoys me to, not least because it's a silly behaviour that could be corrected with a little bit of effort; there really should be a button that will take you to the first post you haven't read yet.

There is - when you're viewing the list in a certain forum, click the orange paper icon, and it'll take you to the first post made since you logged in.

That one just takes you to the most recent post in the thread. But if you've been away for a bit, you have to scroll up or even skip to the previous page to find the earliest post you haven't read.

Being all alone.
I knew I was gonna be right.
My parents left to go have dinner and see a play at about six, leaving me under the care of my brother and sister. My sister planned something with her friend, knowing that my brother would be here to take care of me. So, she's gone at around 6:45. Then, at about 8:30, my brother leaves to go somewhere with his girlfriend. I told him that I would be alone, but he didn't seem to care. So, just as I predicted, I ended up alone. And I don't like being alone.

You can do what ever you want, watch whatever you want without big brother and sister yelling at you.
Eat stuff, drink stuff.
Listen to loud music.
Be on the phone to people for 2 hours.

My peeve of the whatever is the current Headache that's ailing me. It's making me nauseous, and just really driving me insane. And I can't get into my bathroom to get some asprin because my roomate is in there, talking to his Girlfriend on the phone, and he won't get out...yarr....

I used to have headaches every single day after school. It was all part of the Acid Reflux Disease package, but it seems to be getting a whole lot better.

Peeve: People who refuse to face my sister and I in foosball.
Most of you probably know that I really, REALLY love foosball, and that I am also very good at it. Now, my sister is just as good, and together (me on defense, her on attack), are unstoppable. Nobody ever wants to play us. And that isn't fun, because then we end up playing ourselves, and we always get it to nine-nine against eachother, and then one of us scores to win the game. And it's usually her. But still, I'd much rather lose to other people than lose to her.
