Those Girls Gone Wild video ads that come on comedy central from about 2 til about 7 in the morning.. I want to see movies and SouthPark.. Not some stupid videos about drunk skanks acting like morons! Seriously, those videos are stupid and for losers that'd never see that stuff any other way. Those ads don't belong on the TV channel I wanna watch. Put that crap on a stupid channel, like Fox News!
I agree with you so much. I was watching some comedy special, and every other commercial was that. It's just sick really.

I don't find it as sick as I do just dumb and annoying.. The only commercials that are worse are the GGW infomercials (comedy central at 4 in the morning), and those "system" ads where people are like "I was making 3 dollars and hour and eating moldy crackers, then I tried Jeff's system, and 6 months later, the hardest part of my day is trying to decide which of my 300 Ferrari's to drive from my 200 million dollar house to the club."

If you ask me, they should get rid off almost every ad except for those HP ads with the picture frames.. Those things are still cool!

Peeve: deviantART categories. People seem completely incapable of figuring them out. 90% of the pieces in Minimalistic aren't even close. Conceptual and Abstract are even worse, and I'm not exaggerating at all.

Sigh.

I know some people are going to see this and think, "Has BTG flipped"(I am a huge Floyd fan) but here me out. I am talking about the album to the movie. The Album is on two disks. The size of the album is small enough to fit on one disk. I hate is because Pink Floyd is supposed to flow, and it is pretty hard to have a flow when you need to change disks half way through.

Egh, my contacts are all right. It's getting them in that's a pain to me. Especially when you have an eyelash on it that you don't see until it's practically in your eye.

Ouch.

The Wall doesn't actually fit on one disc, but even if it would have, I don't think spreading it out over two discs in itself is the problem. I kinda like the way some bands preserve the idea of vinyl by having albums 70-75 minutes long on two discs even though they would fit on one easily (examples: Wilco's Being There and the new Foo Fighters).

No, the problem with The Wall is they jack up the price to TWICE what it would normally be had it fit on one disc, despite the fact that it only goes two minutes over the limit. I love Floyd and the album, but it sure ain't worth $30. No double album is.

F'woa. Thanks, Funkstar. I don't actually listen to the radio that much, but I find it kind of freaky that I get all bummed by these emotionally charged songs. Next thing I know, I'll be crying in movies and eating babies.

:-D

I was really expecting to come in here ranting about my new television not working (because something always goes wrong with these kinds of things), but everything worked out perfectly. Absolutely nothing went wrong.

I dropped the drill bit down a hole in the attic while trying to put the cable in, but when we cut the whole in my wall- there was the drill bit, laying there in plain sight, easy grasp.

So, uh, peeve? Er... bug... bites?

Whoa. Bug bites. I got tons and tons of those over the summer on my left foot, and they're gone but now my left foot has white spots all over it. Those are permanent scars. I hate bugs.

Peeve: new fancy salt and pepper shakers.

WHO in the Freaking Crap came up with the idea of putting the opening on the BOTTOM of them?? Take a look sometime! Notice those holes on top? Well, that's where the Salt and Pepper come out, right? Well, if you put the opening on bottom, guess what! When you go to fill them, the salt and pepper are going to spill out and make a Freaking Mess All Over My Freaking FLOOR!!

Why couldn't you just make the opening very discreet on the top? It would make my life a whole freaking lot easier!!

Pet Peeve: My redonkulous homework. It's on math I'm supposed to know, and I forgot it over the TWO years since we learned it. Buhhh.

I'm thinking about creating a "Homework Help" thread, where people can post questions about their homework and some of the older and wiser users can help us out. Should I? And what board would it go in?

Feedback, yo. I don't want to create a thread in the wrong spot that no one will use.

New Peeve: Profs who leave no instructions with their TAs.

So tonight I went to my first history class of the year, and the prof wasn't there. Granted, he's gone to help out in New Orleans, so that's a good reason for not being at school. But all he left with the TA (who found out he was TAing that class about 3 hours before) was a handout, which was a copy of an article from Harper's magazine about the Cold War. No instructions as to what we have to do with it or anything. The prof was supposed to phone in a conference call at 715pm, so he could let us know what text we need and what reading we should do for next week. Well, we all sat around until 8pm (thank god for my iPod!) then everyone left. And the poor TA had nothing else to say to us. He didn't know what the crap was going on either. And I only have this class once a week, so I have to wait until next Monday to find out what's up. What's more, no one knows when the prof is coming back.

Pet Peeve: TA's in general
I've got one, and, bless her heart, she's trying, but she forgets what she did and didn't tell us in class. You'll go by her office and she'll be like "I covered this in class..", even if all 3 of us in the class go see her. GAR!

If you think your homework is bad, you can do some of mine... I'm working on one assignement that I've been working on since friday. I put in about 12 hours friday, 6 hours saturday, 7 hours sunday and about 7 1/2 hours today, and counting... GAH!

Peeve - People who don't take no for an answer.
They ask you for a favour, that you can't do due to you having to do other stuff.
Say No, and they rattle off all the reasons they can't do whatever they're supposed to be doing, then you do the same thing about what you're supposed to be doing and why you can't do the favour for them.
Then they get all huffy when you finally scream at them NO I ALREADY TOLD YOU I CAN'T!

That's why you say no initially.

Definitely yes to the Homework Help thing. ASAP, in fact. There are fluent French-speakers here, and I have to write an ENTIRE LETTER to my French pen pal tonight.

You can get those. I think they sell them at WalMart... Try finding some log paper. That's a little harder to find. I think I had to go to the bookstore for that. You want a real challenge? Try finding a field book.. I don't mean field guides, I mean like a composition book with paper that's been chemically treated to be waterproof. I had to have one for my hydrology class and could never find one. I ended up calling a surveyor friend of mine, and he ordered me one (for about $20+20 for overnight shipping, cus I looked EVERYWHERE and wasted a lot of time looking)... I wanted to use a Lab book, it's close to the same thing, but the prof recommended against it.. It's just not durable enough. I wasn't going to take a chance on losing a semester's worth of data in that book, either (we had to turn it in).

My pet peeve: professors not being explicit in instructions for assignments. I don't mean "do the @#$%ing thing!",either.. I mean when they leave the instructions for what they want done REALLY vague, and then you get the assignment back with a lot of "why did you do this? This isn't what I wanted" stuff on it. You can't go to the prof and ask them, because they tell you to go to the TA, and the TA has no clue, because he didn't write the assignment (even though they grade them). They don't seem to get "You're grading this, so how do you want it done?".
