Which brings about the mention of the peeve many have towards people performing actions without thinking about the consequences of those actions.

Eh. Like that guy I saw yesterday. A girl said, "Hey don't touch that pot! It's hot!" and he touches it saying, "Ow!".

I have to agree with Funky on this one, Utard. That's the kind of behavior you probably--scratch that--DEFINITELY don't want the lady-types to know about.

Au Contraire mon ami, I found that French was much easier to learn that Spanish. It's really racking my brain to learn Spanish, but when i took French, it came so natural.

Oh, la la. Je suck at French.

-high five-

My letter to my French pen pal, which was supposed to be 3 paragraphs long, was 2 paragraphs, and the second one was 1 sentence long...

My pet peeve: Things that confuse me...
Sure, this means a lot of things, but there is one thing that totally makes me wonder what's going on..

When I got my internet hooked up, I had to pay the first month of service. Ok, that makes sense. But, yesterday I got a bill for this month (my first month).. It seems that the there was some change in tax or something, but anyway, I owe them 14 cents... They sent me a bill for 14 cents!!!
It cost them more to mail me the bill than I owe them... I really wonder what my bank is gonna think when Comcast cashes that. I would just online pay it, but they said it takes 4-6 weeks to enroll (which makes no sense). Anywhos, I have to write someone a check for 14 cents..

This happens at my alma mater a lot. At the end of the year they assess damages; if anything in your room is damaged, you and your roommate(s) share the bill. If anything on your floor is damaged, it's split among everybody in the floor. And if anything is damaged in the building's common areas, it's split among everybody in the building. So if there are 150 people in the building and somebody breaks a $30 lamp in the main lounge and you didn't happen to have any damage to your floor or room you'd get a bill for $0.20. Factor in the stationery and labor and they probably spent twice that amount to send it. Madness.

IJ and SR, I know how you feel. Last year my Dad was doing my taxes, and he found out that I owed the State of New York......17 cents. Luckily they didn't bill me, my Dad would have paid them in pennies.

Dude, that's madness.. I couldn't have taken that! There were too many people in my building, even on my floor that loved to break stuff because they could...
I got charged for the window that was cracked when I moved it, the last year I lived in this one dorm.. 2 days after I moved out, they tore out the entire wall.. I didn't get it..

After nearly setting my kitchen on fire in a college dorm, and dripping flaming oil onto the carpet in a number of places before it was extinguished, I was charged $330 to replace the carpet. This happened the night before inspection before summer vacation. After the summer I moved back to the same dorm room for another semester, and had friends there for another year at least. They never replaced the carpet. I'd be willing to bet the carpet still is covered with large burn holes. They had all summer to replace it, but they never did.

That's the thing with college, they'll be the first to charge you, but the last to actually spend that money.

Oh, that's another peeve of mine. My ex-girlfriend shared an on-campus apartment with two other people. At the end of the year, the girl whose job it was to clean the kitchen failed to actually do it, so they got charged something like $50 for "cleanup." But she lived in the same apartment the next year, and move in to find that the kitchen was in exactly the same state as they had left it.

For $330 I'd have called them up and demanded an explanation. If the charge was actually for repair or replacement of the carpet, and they never did, I would have been very tempted to take them to small claims court.

Ugh

Let me tell you what's going on. For a while i've been feeling like crap. I had to go to the Hospital on Monday because my roomate thought I had meningitis. It turns out I had about two or so Virus's in me at the same time. That, and coupled with stress, my immune system is wacked. And now my car is gonna cost more that $400 to fix. So that means I'm going to have to move out of my appartment. I loved it there, but it just cost too much, and is putting me through a lot of stress. I have to move back in with my parents, something that really sucks....yarr.....

Probably the biggest thing is the Transmission. It just needs a little part, but since it's an older model Saturn, that one part is connected to about three other parts. And only Saturn parts can go in there, not some general name. The belts also need to be fixed. That, and I need my inspection done as well. And top that with my exhaust that was done last week at $250, it ain't good. I'm getting a new car next Spring.

Speaking of cars, I think I might have to get a new radiator for my car. I think there is a slow leak in it. My "Check Coolant" light came on a few weeks ago, and I refilled my radiator. Yesterday, my coolant light came on again. I don't want to get a new radiator because that is a $300 part. Does anybody know any quick fixes for a radiator.

A real, real quick fix for a temp job would be to crack an egg and puur it in the Radiator. The yolk will plug up the leak, enough to get you to a mechanic.

Thank you Mythbusters.

If all else fails, go to an Auto Junkyard. They have all types of crazy crap.

Good Idea, but I am looking for a perminant fix. I am probably going to put a performance radiator, you know to boost the value of the car.

My wife bought a 97 Honda Civic when she was 16, and then when she was 18 refinanced it to a new bank. Both of those times, her father was a cosigner on the loan. So the registration or the lien or whatever had her name along with her fathers name and their Utah address. After we were married, we looked into having the car registration changed to reflect our names. We refinanced again to get a lower rate, and so her father wouldn't need to be the cosigner any more. We found out that though taking him off the loan was no problem, they couldn't take his name off the registration, so we just shrugged and figured that it wasn't a big deal.

Then we moved to Colorado. They had no problem with the registration, and updated the address on our new registration to our Colorado address, though they needed to keep the names the same as before, so my wife's maiden name and her father's name. No problem though.

Now we live in Texas. I tried to get the car registered, but they wouldn't do it, because I'm not my father-in-law. I explained that he isn't even on the current loan any more, that he is not on the insurance anymore, and in fact is no longer involved in any way with the car. They said it doesn't matter. They needed a faxed copy of a proof-of-insurance (for any car) for my father-in-law, plus his SSN, and I needed to fill out a paper indicating that my father-in-law and my wife live at the old Colorado address.

So I jump through their dang hurdles, only to discover that the DMV only takes cash or check, no debit/credit cards accepted. I didn't have cash or check on me, so now I get to go back again to visit with the nice folks.

Well, I'm getting a laptop in three days, so hopefully I can find it put it on there. If not, I'm gonna have to buy all three games. Darn.
