Amazon is good. WalMart is another really good place (nothing about WalMart.com says textbooks, but, you'll find their prices aren't too bad).

I wouldn't set foot in Wal-Mart if it were the last store on Earth.

Then try WalMart.com, like he suggested.

What's with the sudden prejudice against Wal-Mart, anyway?

WalMart is the devil, yo.

It bothers me when you're in the grocery store, behind someone with three carts full of stuff (and that in itself takes forever), but then, they wait until the last possible minute to dig their check book out of their purse. That drives me nuts! With all the time it took to scan all that stuff, they could've filled out the basics of the check already. They already know where they are and who they are, so they could've filled in that part, but noooo! That really, really bugs me.

I'm cheesed off. Wanna know why?

OK. It's because of World of Warcraft. I was loaned the game by a friend of mine, and I was going to try it out with the ten day free trial the game includes. But unfortunately, I still need to provide credit card info to register. I don't have a credit card, and I highly doubt my parents would let me use theirs.

Dang. I really wanted to play it, too. X-(

Idiots who think they are ever so smart.

There's one kid in my science class who has said some remarkably stupid things (saying that Bush has an IQ of 0, for example...that's not even possible O_o), and he claims to have an IQ of 164. -_-

English peeve of the day: flowery writing (and speaking), i.e. adding words where none are necessary just for the sake of having more words. Case in point: "at some point in time" or "at this point in time." That little "in time" serves absolutely no purpose and irritates to me to no end. Say "at some point" or "at some time" instead, and if you're talking about now, just say "now."

"at this time" also comes to mind. I hear that all the time.
Actually, just read George Carlin's "Napalm and Silly Putty", specifically the section on airline travel.

My peeve of the moment is homework. I have finals coming up, and a final project that is consuming about 50 hours a week of my time, and then, they slap another 2 or 3 homework assignments (covering things that won't be on the final OR in the final projects) on top of that. It must be nice to be able to do an 8-4, then go home, maybe do an hour's work here and there, and eat a "sit-down" meal with no real thoughts of work until the next morning.

Well at that point in time it seem like a good idea to talk like this, not knowing that somewhere down the line, somebody would get peeved by it. :p

I really don't like that, but not as much as I hate euphamisisms. I hate the sterilization of the English Language.

Some are good though. I love the humorus ones. I often replace words with weird euphamisisms that will just confuse people.

I do that to, but I hate it when some uses euphamisisms because they think they will offend somebody.

That thought alone is what kept me out of grad school.

Hooray for work.

The extra $15-20,000 a year I stand to make lured the republican in me to come here.

And painful. You don't exactly do it with the same flair as Didymus.

Peeve: Three tests tomorrow, all right before Thanksgiving holidays.

I know what you mean. This past week was crazy for me. Papers, test, labs, and much more. Now times that by the college factor, and you, my friend, have an exploding head.

Peeve: Idiots.

A FRIENDLY CONVERSATION (directly following a small debate over the merits of the Xbox 360)

ME: Meh, I don't know. I"ll probably get a Revolution when it comes out, especially if Super Smash Bros. Online comes with it.
GRANT: MAN, you're in HIGH SCHOOL! You shouldn't play MARIO anymore?
ME: Why so?
GRANT: [Suddenly changing subjects.] MAN, if GRAND THEFT AUTO was released on GAMECUBE, it would get NO MONEY.
ME: What are you talking about?
GRANT: Only KIDS play GAMECUBE.
<bell rings>
ME: Nintendo has the biggest fanbase of any console. Kids and adults play it. There are very few gamers who completely dislike Nintendo. If Grand Theft Auto was released for the GameCube, it would make just as much money, if not more.
GRANT: [Talking to Alan Johnson, who has no authority whatsoever. He ran for "Executive Council Member" of the freshman class, but lost. Grant probably has a secret love for him or something.] HEY, ALAN. Wouldn't GRAND THEFT AUTO lose MONEY on GAMECUBE?
ALAN: [Sniggering.] Yeah, yeah, because only, like, yeah, two people have GameCubes, yeah, you [indicating me.], and... some other guy.
GRANT: OH, OH, DEBO.
ME: ...

Gah.

I will admit that there is a lack of variety in gamecube games, but the games they do have OWN!!!
Is there a more fun fighting game than Smash Brothers Melee? I don't think so. I bought a game cube just because of that game (I own other games, but I would've been just fine without a gamecube if they weren't the only one with SSBM.)

My peeve: Meth labs.. How stupid do you have to be to make this stuff? You run about a 50% chance of exploding yourself. The only people who are dumber are people that take the stuff... Check out the crap that's in it and how it's made if you disagree.
I only bring this up because one of my buds back home got hurt when one of those labs blew up (he wasn't making meth, he was next door delivering a pizza).

You're nineteen, Bettag. We're young, impressionable 14-year-olds.

OK, Here's one...

Whenever I'm on here, it always kind of bugs me when I see people quoting Homestar, typing it the way he would talk. Like...

I don't have a good reason why it bugs me, it just does. Oh, and sorry to the people that do that, I just needed to get it out in the open.

My biggest pet peeve for November 22, 2005 is this.

I do not own Xbox 360.
Earlier this morning, my peeve was spending three days at grandmother's house.

You and everyone else and their brother!

My neighbor got one and as he was leaving Best Buy, a guy offered him $650 for it (they had supposedly sold out, he doesn't know if they did or not)... My neighbor doesn't have a 360, but he didn't want one THAT bad.

I really can't stand ditzes. Science class, with microscopes...

GIRL: "What do I do?! I'm so confused!"

ME: "-_- Plug it in."

GIRL: "Where? What?"

ME: "See the cord wrapped around the microscope? Unwrap it and plug it in."

GIRL: "Can I get some help over here?"

AUGH.
