This is really ticking me off.

My sister had a laptop, but recently the hard drive on it got fried someone (We suspect she dropped the computer) So she's been bringing the laptop I use up to her room when I'm not using it until hers gets fixed (Hooray for warranties, at least). Sure enough, she's already managed to break something on another computer - the left speaker kepps blipping in and out. This really sucks, a big reason my parents bought this computer was for it's good sound, because they know how important music is to me, and now it doesn't work. At least I can still use headphones, which I often use anyways, but still, I'm pretty ticked.

Though, the music on right now cheers me up. Even if it's stuck on one side ;)

Can't they put classical music through a compressor or something? Something to even out the levels, ya know? I'm listening to my playlist and something like the introit to Mozart's Requiem comes on and I'm thinking "why's it been quiet for the past 30 seconds?" How do they expect the new generations to pick up on classical if it doesn't stand up to the rock and the rap, with all that hippin' and the hoppin' and the bippin' and the boppin'. The youth won't know what the classical is all about! So now I have to import all these MP3s into Audacity and run them through a compressor myself, because I KNOW this piece can stand up against any modern track if it was just mixed the same way, instead of being mixed for people who might listen to it in the background at a wine & cheese party. Well, er.. I guess it would have to be some kind of goth wine & cheese party if it's a requiem, but still.

Mmmm.. wine & cheese...

EDIT: nevermind, I just learned that the reason they don't put classical music through a compressor is that it's really obvious afterward that it's been through a compressor

Lemme guess. Without the dynamic range, the song just doesn't work, right?

I wouldn't mind scratches.

I have a peeve that I'm usually not peeved at most people. :eekdance:

I hate my klutziness. Today, after school, I went to my friend Scott's house, because his band was about to audition for the same concert I auditioned for the day before. They sang Woman, by Wolf Mother. I was standing around on a skateboard. I wasn't even moving, and I fell over, and scraped up my elbow.
And then I was dumb enough to get back on the skateboard.

Tell me about it. I had it when I do that, but yet for some reason I keep on doing it.

Yep, all the time. I just did a 20 page Music Theory packet this morning, because I kept putting off until today, the day it's due. And it only took me like, an hour.

I hate life-consuming projects. That's why I'm not here a lot. Been workin' on a website. Ugh. So, I'm coming back soon. Which is another pet peeve: falling out of the loop. "What? What's this TELL WHAT U THINK crud?"

Food on people. All my friends come out with lunch on their faces, I can barely hold myself back from punching them. It's like a obsessive compulsive thing.

You know what I hate? When you're walking a staircase with some one's freakin' rump in your face! This always happens to me when I'm heading up the stairs at school with some one just ahead of me. ('Course, my size is also a contributing factor when it comes to my smelly-faced miseries). God, it ticks me off so much, especially when they walk really slowly or slouch their rear-end in your direction. I just pray I never experience some butt-to-face contact. *Shudders*

I was JUST gonna say that! :p Heh heh, yeah... I guess there can be silver linings nestled deep within our pet peeves. There are plenty of girls in my school who could shake they barumpa-bump-bumps in my face any day! But er uh... we'll keep the details at that for now. ;)

You think you've got it bad? My history teacher does that ALL THE TIME! I like her and all, but every freaking time the kid in the next row over's got a question, she bends in half and her pants kind of sink down. It's become sort of an inside joke within the class, and whenever she does it the row across from mine, my friend calls me and I look over and I have her, well...rear...in my face. To make it even worse, she wears thongs from Victoria's Secret. *barf*

*tips macaroni & cheese down the sink*

what i peeve? my sister. she's been all obsessed with the Sims 2 for a fortnight, every day, forever asking, "can we go to K-mart today?". once she gets it, the computer is incredibly slow. mom opens up Remove Programs, and starts questioning me what 'USB Joystick' and 'THPS2' is. things that are 40mb at the most. gee, if you want the system to go faster, why don't you get rid of sims2.exe for 3,822 MB!

My dad once got rid of macromedia flash player because he thought it was a virus or something. So I don't think any flash sites worked, and when I tried to download it again, I couldn't.
Parents are stupid, when it comes to computers. They should trust us, we know, at the least, more than them.

You know, sometimes, that's not entirely true. I know some parents that know more about computers than their kids do.

Once again I have to be mad at my clumsiness.
For the umpteenth time, I have injured my ankle, doing something routine and simple. This time it was going up for a rebound in basketball during PE.

olderness: more knowledge.
according to my dad.
"I've been using computers longer than you have! i know how to repair a network connection!"
"well, then click the button that says REPAIR!"
"that won't help it! that will only make it worse!"

just at least he hasn't touched my computer. he'd 1) look through all my documents and things and find those pictures, and 2) screw around with the settings.

no, not pr0n. just various humorous pictures he would find offensive and rude.
