2 computer related peeves: 1.) Rar files. JUST USE ZIP. 2.) Refreshing Banners. They're just annoying, who the hell thought that would be a good idea? |

Those rotators. They change whenever someone opens it, so you get a different picture every time. |

Rar files generally compress better than zip. Use the free program 7-zip and you'll be able to unzip .zip, .rar, and .7z files, not to mention others. - Kef |

1. I just don't want to download stuff. 2. Refreshing banners as in an ad that loads something new if you're on a page for too long. For example, the banners on addictinggames. ROTATING banners, on the other hand, are cool. |

Well, my pet peeve is people who blame others for their own laziness. You only have to download it one time, after all.

*sob* (I'm sorry, I just don't want to download something that does the samething as something I already have. I didn't mean to insult anyone). |

Hey, take it easy... I was only making a point. But, still, it's not the same thing as something you already have... it's even better. After all, it does the same things and more, right? - Kef |

Yeah, I dont like it when multiple filetypes in some way conflict with each other, but it is very understandable that people would prefer .rar. After all, if you have a site where people are downloading hundreds, thousands, or even millions of stuff each day, you would want it to be as compressed as possible. |

Peeve: Photoshop snobs. "OMG MS PAINT SUCKS GET PHOTOSHOP LOLOLOLOLOL!!!" Well, some of us can't exactly drop $700 for one computer program, so don't shove it down our throats. I know it's an excellent program (took a semester class in it), but until I get it I'll settle for something else. |

MS Paint isn't that bad if you know what you're doing. Case in point, almost all my avatars have been done in MS Paint (with the exception of my two most recent - they were MS Paint - Photoshop hybrids). AND don't save your files as JPG's. Save them as .BMP's then use another program to convert them. That way you have some control over the quality settings. |

Ms Paint DOES suck when you're using it to edit a photo. Download Gimp for "Bob"'s sake. |

I tried GIMP for a while; kept crashing on me or something. Maybe now that I know Photoshop I can try it again; they can't be too different. |

GIMP kept crashing on me, too. But I actually DO have Photoshop, so I don't have to worry about it. Granted, it's an old version, but it works. Also, I find that I get more use out of ImageReady. A lot of the same features, but less of a resource hog, and even does more stuff, particularly with textures and text. |

For some reason, I often get the same feelings about people who blindly love flash without ever having tried any other program. |

I hates it when I accidentally lose the page in my book and I can't even remember what chapter I was on. Especially with Stephen King's short story collections were there are like dozens of chapters... |

MS Paint really does suck, though. It's OK if you want to use it for the CHALLEEEEENNNGGGGEEEE!, especially if you're doing oekaki-type stuff, but it simply is not a serious art program in any respect. There are other alternatives to Photoshop, of course. To date, I have never needed a full version of Photoshop, though if I were to start actually drawing this graphic novel I've been kicking around for a few years, it might prove useful because it handles CMYK (ink colors) in addition to RGB (monitor colors), which is something that most guys who use Photoshop will probably never need in their lives. GIMP shouldn't be as bad at crashing as it once was... and there are relatively cheap programs that can be used, too, like Paint Shop Pro, which I've never actually tried myself, or Corel Painter, which is more of a painting/illustration program than a photo manipulator, but still useful for some other tasks, or the Elements version of Photoshop, which often comes free with graphics tablet software (which was how I got it). - Kef |
