IantheGecko wrote: Listening to Daft Punk's new live album Alive 2007. It's freakin' amazing how they twist and warp and skew the different elements of their songs in real time and often have two or three songs going simultaneously. Kinda like an improvised mash-up. That's what DJing usually entails. You should check out Justice if you're into Daft Punk.
DJ Steve "Kid Millionaire" Aoki - 1967 I'm not usually one for the club scene, or the hipsters who hang around clubs, but Steve Aoki Funk rules. One of the unlikeliest awesome nights of my life is when my lowlife artschool friends (some of them visible in the video) dragged me over to Blow Up SF at the Rickshaw stop. I think Chris Crocker was there, too. |

When in Rome... The Dirty Projectors - Funk for Life Funk Funk Funk Funk Funk Funk Funk Funk! You can't even make a coherent use of any other tense of Funk with this dumb filter. It's a sad, sad day when a free man can't say Funk. |

I find it funny that Funk is filtered (and, really, it should be filtered based on context) but female dog isn't. Such Great Heights - The Postal Service |

Contrecoup - They Might Be Giants Not the best track on The Else, but still excellent. God. That album rules. |

there's a lotta bass in this I like it. This Is Why I Rock is better. Why? It just is. Check it out though for real, I almost guarantee you will like it better than the original. Disappear - Sunny Day Real Estate I'm just listening to the whole album. This isn't one of the greatest songs on it though. At least I don't think it is. |

Gayrilla Biscuits - Flaming butt Still Burns The song title really doesn't say butt. Queercore band out of SoCal, the Gayrilla Biscuits first release was a self-produced little EP of well-known straight edge hardcore covers converted into songs about being gay. This song derives from the halcyon New York band Youth of Today's "Flame Still Burns." It's really good, too. Of course, I support anything that makes fun of straight edge hardcore. |

The Geeks - What's We Believe Straight edge hardcore from Korea. And for a straight edge hardcore band, the Geeks rule. I don't think I've seen many other bands quite nearly as energetic and passionate as the Geeks. Then again, this was their first US tour, and they were all stoked as crap on it. |

Twift Shoeblade - Mouse on Mars MoM is pretty weird, but they have a few good songs. I guess you could call them IDM (intelligent dance music), but ironically, most artists of that style hate being called IDM. It is a pretty stupid term, since it's not always intelligent, you can't really dance to it. (also, the studio version of this song is waaay better then the live version. They're not really the best live band) |

Forty Days by Streetlight Manifesto Personally, one of the least interesting tracks on the album. It isn't as catchy or as wild as some of the other tracks. It's just mush in the middle. The whole SitB album just doesn't compare to Keasbey or Everything Goes Numb. The songs on it are much more similar to each other, as are the lyrics with constant references to birth, death, and mothers. That's over, now it is: Your House by Jimmy Eat World The whole Bleed American album is a great mix of pop and punk tunes. Oh, even that is over. I'm going for the record of longest post in this thread now. Dreamer in my Dream by Wilco Wilco is fantastic stuff. I just got into them. EDIT: TOTPD! Holy crap.

So far every Streetlight Manifesto has had a theme. If you listen to EGN all the way through again you'll probably notice that it constantly touches on death and suicide. =P Top of the Pops - The Rezillos I love female Scottish vocalists. |
