Mitch All Together - Mitch Hedberg

It's sad that Mitch died before his big break. This guy was great. Some of the best one-liners ever.

Aww man, I love that album. The bonus DVD is cool; the uncut version of his Comedy Central shows what he was really like live, but also gives a hint to what would happen to him later on.

That's what concept albums do. So far every Streetlight Manifesto has had a theme. If you listen to EGN all the way through again you'll probably notice that it constantly touches on death and suicide.

Myeh, I don't see them so much as concept albums, but rather "we only have one lyrical theme. Ever." I think I'm just getting tired of them and their style. Ska needs an update. My ska listening is restricted to hearing it mixed in with everything else on shuffle and the occasional Mad Caddies (who are truly the best).

With a Good Criminal Heart by The World/Inferno Friendship Society

This seems more like a concept album to me. It's an album telling the story of Peter Lorre's life. The music itself sounds like it would be great played live by a huge orchestra in an auditorium, it's just so intricate. Unfortunately, from what I've seen on YouTube, these guys suck live.

Holy crap - Against Me!

In my opinion, the best song on Searching For a Former Clarity.

Yah' for real. Mitch was and still is one of the greatest comedians ever.

Freemind - Laylines

By the ways, this band just performed a reunion concert this past Friday! Things are finally starting to look up for them! Hope they hold on.

Trampled Under Foot - Led Zeppelin

And what is there to say really?! It's the freaking Zepp, come on guys.

Approve.

That Justice album somebody mentioned earlier in the thread. I find it underwhelming.
Oh, I forgot to reply to this. See, I usually find electronic dance music in general to be pretty boring to listen to by itself. I'd rather be in a club with a good DJ spinning. If you hear Justice's live sets, they'll always sound stronger than anything they've put onto a record.

Peaches - Funk The Pain Away

&

Prince - Kiss

Yeah.

WOO ZEPPELIN!! I actually got my mom to tolerate them because she was always saying "That's music you would get high to! I don't like it!"

I'm listening to Sikamikaniko by Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Well, guess what is no more than 20 minutes from my house?
The Led Zeppelin rollercoaster at Hard Rock Park that is being built.

Okay, you have me beat. :p

But no ways! I've heard about the Hard Rock Park before but I didn't think it was actually being built already! Dope! I'm definitely checking that out in the future. Do you have any news on when it's going to be completed or what the other rides are going to be?

I've been previewing this live album on iTunes for awhile now and I gotta say, it sounds twicely fresh. I might have to get around to picking that up someday too.

Oh, and I'm listening to...

Clone High Theme (Extended Version) - Abandoned Pools

This is, hand down, my all time favorite theme song. What ever happened to the Abandoned Pools anyways?!

Knights of Cydonia - Muse

Muse is one of the greatest up-and-coming prog rock bands out there.

Now it's:
Atlas - Battles

Battles, on the other hand, is just plain weird.

Come On Feel the Illinoise is the only album I own by him, and I question why I don't have more. Suggestions for what album by him I should get next please.

Jawbreaker - You're Right

One of my favorite pieces of my vinyl collection is the bootleg Jawbreaker 7-inch "Live at 924 Gilman St.: 8/11/90."

Clonus - Planet X

Awesome drum solo on this one.

Y'know, I have kind of a love/hate relationship with progressive rock. Lots of it is really good and creative, like Planet X, but some of it is just pretentious junk.

Weird, yes, but in a good way methinks. They're all amazing musicians and talented guys in general, so I think they can pull it off. They're choice of vocal work is a bit over-the-top, yes, but they're trying to create a unique sound and that's always something to roll with.

That being said...

Tonto - Battles

My favorite Battles song, hands down. I'm glad I came across them in 2007.

It's the vocals that turn me off, really. They're still really talented musicians, like you said.

I haven't heard Tonto though, I'll have to look for that.

Lost by Meat Puppets

The band as a whole is very creative and unique, although my favorite album (as expected) is II. Only criticism is the singer (name is on the tip of my tongue) annoys me.

overnowits

Edison Girls by Saturday Looks Good to Me

I only listen to these guys because they were on the front page of allmusic a day when I went to look something up. It's good stuff.

^You may be right, but I must say that Icky Thump is the most inconsistent album they've released. That and I had tickets for the canceled tour. They started with self titled, climbed upwards in quality to Elephant, and now they're going down the other side of the hill.

All I Want is You by Barry Louis Polisar

From the Juno soundtrack. First time in a long while that I wanted and enjoyed an entire soundtrack to a movie. Is it a good time to mention that I think Ellen Page is incredibly cute?
