Poisenville Kids No Wins / Reprise (This Must Be Our Time) - El-P & Cat Power

Oooooooh I love this jam. El-P's random little fadeouts can get a little annoying though... But then again, I guess that's his style.

Those GTA theme songs. I'm getting back into it for the soon release of GTA IV and decided to go listen to some CLASSIC VIDYA JAMS for a while. Can't choose a favorite though, they're all awesome.

I think this would be a pretty awesome theme song if the lyrics got taken out. Just makes you feel like you're an illegal immigrant (or at least it does that to me) The real song is like a modern classical. Kind of. Sorta like this I think

If you haven't heard these guys, fix that please. I found these dudes a few days ago, and I'm just listening to them on repeat.

I disagree. They're a good band, but not a band that makes me go "HOLY CRAP NEXT STOP ROCK N' ROLL HALL OF FAME!!!!1"

Also, I'm listening to The Prophet's Song by Queen.

Queens of the Stone Age - Turnin' On the Screw

I'm going to agree with Abu in the fact that Radiohead just doesn't appeal that much to me, but their fanbase thinks they're funking brilliant, and they have a rather large fanbase.

Kids With Guns by Gorillaz

I'm not as crazy about them as I once was, but I still really enjoy this band and this song especially; it's one of my favorites by them.

Unconditional by The Bravery

Good mix of Rock, Indie and Electronica.........opening of this song is epic. Their first album is 110% a good album.

One of the reasons they are one of the greatest bands ever. Plus, they opened a lot of doors for music. They made something that wasn't popular at all in their beginning times, popular.

Bury Me - The Smashing Pumpkins

Another small breakthrough album.

So, in your mind, popular = good?

sigh

This is the quintessential double entendre anthem. Perfect for a innuendo fan like me.

You can go too far the other way, though. If you only like bands that are so obscure they haven't even been founded yet, that's bad too.

That was the point I was trying to make.

I think you're making a big leap from "Radiohead have such a large number of fans because they're great" to "popular = good."

Well, this is the way I saw it:

But yeah, if you go the opposite way and only listen to really obscure bands, that's pretty lame too. What I was trying to say is that popularity shouldn't even be a factor when you consider if a band is good or not.

I just think Radiohead is overrated. Nothing they did was "revolutionary", they were just one of the first bands to popularize it and bring it to the mainstream.

Ah, ok. That makes sense. And I agree with Radiohead not being as revolutionary as they were told to be, they just brought a new sound into the mainstream. Like a lot of 90s radio.
