Changing to phpBB3 - good thing?

I'm a sad panda that this is happening. It's like being pushed around on what to wear in What Not To Wear. It would suck, personally, and no matter how many times I look in the mirror, I would still like to have my old self, if it weren't for those meddling adults throwing away all my awesome clothes.

I really don't know. The new features (like simulpost blocker) are gonna be cool to have but phbpbphpbbb2 just has a better look and feel IMO.

Also, form follows function and whatnot. phpBB3 is functionally superior.

I think this might be somewhat of a familiarity issue too. If this forum was phpBB3 when I joined, I wouldn't care at all. But since I've gotten used to phbhbbp2, I'm gonna miss it.

I am probably going to like this change; it opens the door to tons of potentially cool things for the Forum. Of course, it shouldn't go way too overboard when compared to the things we currently have, but it should still offer many new possibilities.

I'm going to miss this old phpBB 2 subSilver style, though. Somebody should make a backup of the main page of the Forum like they did in the Forum time capsule thread, then compare it to the new one when it comes out.

I'm definitely going to miss good old subSilver, but from what we've been told, I believe they've got something kinda close to a match for us to us. Also, we do have plenty of mods that we're putting into it all like we do this current version of *raspberry*2. We'll see how it all turns out.

I'd be impressed if we were switching to vBulletin. That would be some good stuff right there.

I don't mind the change, as long as they let us change our names again. I'm tired of this one.

phpBB 2 allows name changes, but it was disabled just for that purpose: to keep people from changing their names so much that other people couldn't recognize them.
