Going off a discussion in Random Thoughts, this thread is all about gaining weight, losing weight, exercising, all that kinda stuff.

Me, I've always been skinny; I've also always been fascinated with large characters: giants, muscle men, etc.

I have a really strong lower body (from running), but my upper body is still quite a bit weaker than I'd like. I used to be really scrawny, but I have some muscle now (but I'm still considered skinnier than most).

My main problem is the fact that I am a tad flat (then again, I'm scrawny all over--my breasts seem largish compared to my tiny body). I'd love more curves all over, really.

I'm gonna step in and politely ask that no one post shirtless pics. I did that once quite a few months ago, & I regret it. So if you've got 'em (any "them" you can think of), at least put on a tank top.

Same as Ed with the lower/upper split. I've always wanted to do more gymnastic type maneuvers or climbing, but I don't have the arm muscles for it. My legs are doing fine though (running, biking, hiking).

I looked up what people say the healthy BMIs and body fat percentages are, and I'm just over the "normal" range, which is more like "normal in an ideal world". Ideally BMI would be under 25 and % would be under 17; I'm at about 26.5 and 17.9%. I could get in the recommended range if I lose about 10 pounds, and be solidly safe in the middle of the range with another 10-15. So that's my main goal right now.

After that, I'll wanna take care of that upper body stuff, just to the point where I can confidently count on my arms to hold up the rest of me for short periods of time.

I have pretty good lower body strength (yay, hiking and biking) but upper body=not so great. I'm also a little underweight.

Also I'm pretty tall.

I'm feeling a lot better about myself.

I started at a gym in August, and I'm seeing results.
I'm nowhere near where I want to be, but I'm getting there.

Between 45-50 minute sessions on the elliptical, weight training and cycling/spinning class, I'm quite happy with the direction I'm heading.

I really haven't lost too much weight (only about 4 pounds), but I've dropped about 2 pants sizes and a lot of flab.
