Does anyone here play Final Fantasy XI online?

I just picked it up, and I'm looking for peoples to play with.

By the by, it's pretty nifty so far, but ultimately, the PS2 hard drive seems like a waste of money.

I wanted that so bad, but it cost money for playing online.

Yeah, I don't know how long I'm gonna be doin' that.

I dunno what I think about this game so far. It seems like no one gives a crap about playing with other people, which is odd, seeing as that's who you'd play it to begin with.

Oh well, we'll see how it goes.

I'll be reviewing the game on my forum, check it out sometime if you want.

I was about to buy it, but I quickly saw that only two games used it. Woop-ee. But there is a piece of software that allows you to back up games onto the HD, which is nice. Oh, and I only get 28.8 Kbps at my house.

Well, with the HDD you don't have to use the disk for FFXI. That's about it. You can't save onto it like the XBox, and you can't put music on it...

The whole FFXI thing is annoying, because all your character's information along with all the levels are all stored on PlayOnline's server, so why is the hard drive needed anyway??

Oh, well. At least someone else spent the money on it and not me.

One word: caching. Halo does it, and FFXII does it too. It reduces load times.

BUT one program does make the thing useful: HDAdvance. Puts games on the Hd, see?

Hmm. An actual use for the overpriced mostly-useless peripheral.

Go third party developers.

Eat it, Sony.
