Okay, I wanted to know if anyone knows what kind of microphone the Bros Chaps use. If you don't know that, would you know of any decent/relatively cheap microphones for recording dialogue? This is for my Flash site, so I want a good one.

Thanks

Well, if you're looking for a small one, or a USB connected one, you're going to want to head over to Comp USA--the last time I went there, there was a rack of some decent microphones for around $10-15.

Ya know, I seem to remember reading in an interview with TBC where they talked about the equipment they use...maybe it was on the H*R FAQ...Look around, I'm sure you'll find it. All the interviews are linked on the Wiki Links page so...get to work!

You see the microphone in the DVD, but I've never looked close enough to figure out what kind of microphone it is.

However, it looks like a pretty nice one. I don't know a whole lot about microphones, but I think one of that caliber would be at least $50, if not $150 or more.

If I were you, I wouldn't worry about it too much just yet. Your flash cartoon doesn't even have any viewers, yet. Don't worry about high-quality equipment until you have a use for it. TBC started out with a crappy microphone -- just listen to some of the earliest toons and compare with the newest ones. And people still loved the cartoon. Sound quality is about 2% of the equation. Focus on writing first, aesthetics second, and sound third. My advice would be to go to a music store (music as in guitars and pianos, not music as in CDs and t-shirts) and tell them you want to record sound to your computer. They'll tell you what you need, and how much you'll end up paying for it.

I've been looking at some microphones that were around that price, and some that were even around $500

Thanks for the advice. You've got a good point. I have to remember that its only me and some of my friends watching these cartoons here. :)
