Hey, I was just wondering if anyone here (besides the lovely StrongCanada) was an actor.

I am a beginning actor, meaning I'm only 13 but I've been in a couple plays. I've been in:
A Christmas Story
Tom Sawyer (a musical)
The Jungle Book
Stuart Little (also a musical)
The Frankenstein's are Back in Town (stupid title, but fun play)
and right now I'm in Tuck Everlasting.

These were all just at children's theatres around my town, but whatever. What about you guys?

Oh, I acted alright. My starring role was the dramatic...

Tree #2: Scene 5

Sure, it was third grade, and sure, I did nothing but stand there, but I stood there like I never stood before! Yeah! ... uh... (sigh)... okay, I lied.. I was Tree #4....

I've been in the chorus in all of my school plays and once played Mr. Darling in a Peter Pan play.
Also in my acting classes I do after school I got the lead part in the end of year play.

Most of my theatre experience is in the production side more than performance. I've built quite a few sets in my day. I also used to be a stage manager/stage hand (read: the person you yell at when, although I've turned on your mic and taped over the power switch, you turn off your mic and nobody can hear you), sound tech and lighting tech camera man, switcher operator/video director).

I do have SOME performances under my belt, though. I acted as "talent" in several student video productions in college, including one where I was the object of a stalker girl, one where I played a hitman (pulled my hair back into a ponytail, add black leather trenchcoat, a tight black T-shirt, and some cool shades and I look like one bad mofo), and a really funny bread commercial where we "invented" sliced bread and tried to figure out what it was the greatest thing since.
I've been in a couple local commercials and I've been on the news a few times. I've done TV weather a few times, too.

I've also done some "stage" stuff, including a part in a high school production of "The Legend of Jenny Wiley", and a couple parts in church plays ( roman soldier, wise man, joseph). I've been asked to be Jesus, as I look the part (I have the hair, and can grow the beard) but I just kinda feel a little weird being called Jesus.

In Kindergarden, we did small plays where we sang. But most of us just stood around and let all the teachers do the singing.

Around the end of summer in '04, we did a church play. I was the stage crew. We also had a talent show at our church, where a group of us got together and did The Mississippi Squirrel Revival, a little song/act about a squirrel that gets lose in a church.

I've been in about fifty productions with theatre groups around my state. Sometimes I play leads.

My plays:

Vegetables Are Good To Eat - Narrator - 1st Grade Play: This was my first performance. I did well (for a first-grader).

Alice In Wonderland - Mad Hatter - Theater Camp: I missed half of my part because I was daydreaming.

The Bookworm - Tom Sawyer & David Copperfield - 2nd Theater Camp: I wanted to play "The Bookworm" so badly, but I got two one line parts instead. I'm not complaining now.

Main Street Mystery - Scientest & Auctioneer - 5th Grade Play: I only got the Auctioneer because the kid who played him was absent.

Now I'm looking for a Children's Theater to join.

I was in the school musical in my senior year in high school, which was last year. The play was Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. Originally, I was
going to be an extra without any lines. However, there weren't enough guys for all of the speaking parts (the play reqired 7 brothers, 6 suitors who try to keep the girls to themselves when the brothers tried to steal them, a preacher, a resturant owner, and a general store owner), so I got promoted
to suitor. I was the big, mean mountain man who got to beat up the main character, amongst other things. That was my major acting expirence. Right now, I'm not looking to act, as I have a lot to do.

Has anyone made any movies, like, at home? Eh! Nick and I have made a movie (which he is not proud of) called Agent Alexander.

I've made a sorry attempt at one...and then I made a sequel...the worst hour I've ever spent in my life...

And, by the way, I am making this post in my Perchik costume, as I just came home from a rehearsal... :)

Two more days...

I played the role of "Ned Crumpet", one of the "Hollywood Hillbillies" in The Secret of My Success. That was a darn-tootin' good play.
