Man...I whipped out the old N64 the other day and popped in a copy of Starcraft 64...

No matter what, no matter when, that game never ceases to be fun every frickin' time I play it!

The graphics are a little old, of course, but the gameplay always makes up for it, ya know?

Anyone else around here like to play Starcraft on their N64?

Uhh, I like to play it on my pc occansionaly, but I heard it sucked on the N64, as with any RTS on a console. I think I may have rented it once, but I can't be sure.

Yeah, I have a general fear of RTSes...mainly 'cause I SUCK at 'em...

The N64 one seemed less threatening to me...I dunno why.

You could try Battle for Middle-Earth. It's pretty n00b friendly.
Damn fine game I should add too.

I'll keep that in mind.

Oh, by the way...Rule #1...watch the language.

Ok, sorry. But yeah, BFME is a really good RTS for newbies or people who just aren't exactly masters of the genre. Another good option is Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War, one of my favorite games of the year.

N64 is old school? Man, I must be ancient then. *still plays NES*

I was just about to say something along those lines, DarkGrapefruit. Not that the N64 is bad, I just consider it too recent to really be oldschool.

I call it oldschool in regards to *most* of the audience here.

I still whoop out the Atari 2600 on occasion...

It may be oldschool for like, 13 year olds or something but I know Agent is a 13-year-old (He's married right?). I don't even consider the NES to be old-school, maybe in graphics yeah, but the gameplay is still recent. Old-school for me means that the gameplay is outdated (i.e. text-based). Now, if you want old-school archaic gameplay, try the Commodore 64, Amiga or Ultimas 1-6.

Starcraft 64 is okay, but it's much better (IMO) on the PC. I feel the graphics are pretty bad and the controlls are strange...
