Or is the proper term "notebook"? Regardless, I just bought a new Sony Vaio S260. I like it very much already, and I've only had it for near 4 hours.

Let me tell you how great CompUSA is . . . . This girl comes over to help me, and ends up showing me things for around two hours. Now the good part . . . First, they knock $100 off the computer's price, then knock $100 off the extended two year warranty. Then at the checkout, the manager throws in another year of service (total 3 yrs) for free!!!!

And on top of that, the girl who helped me gave the ol' slip of the phone number and sly "call me" remark.

I think today was indeed my day.

I have a Dell 700m and it's great. It's very light and has a battery life of five hours when you get the bigger battery.

Q. What's the difference between a large black box and my laptop?
A. Scientists have decided to put this as their priority for this year.

Seriouly, all that's installed in my laptop is Word, and it's not even hooked up to a printer.

$1700. The screen (13.3") is absolutely superb - If you look at it for a bit, then go look at others, the others appear dim and blurry. Somehow, Sony has goten the screen to appear extremely glossy.

4.2 lbs, small size. Wi-Fi; it's also great if you like pre-installed software (DVD, pictures, Quicken 2005, etc.)

The only thing it desn't have . . . . . I think . . . . is a DVD burner.

I'd have to say that about 98% of my posts were posted on a laptop.
