Wow, this is back from the dead!
I seriously do not think increased risk of heart attacks is worth skipping a few periods.
I'd rather not be clutching at my chest every hour on the hour so I could wear tight white pants all day everyday, thankyou very much.

I think what That Goblin is talking about is a birth control pill called Seasonale, and I think it's weird. I've also read that you can take your birth control pills constantly (instead of taking sugar pills for a week) and prolong your period indefinitely. I think that's got to be bad for you somehow.

Though it may have effected her libido, which is no fun for anybody.

My ex-girlfriend took Depo Provera, the once-every-three-months birth control shot. It basically eliminates your period. She loved it. The tricky part is finding someone to give you the shot, or learning how to do it yourself. I never had the guts to do it, and neither did she, but lucky for us she had a number of friends who are nurses.

One look at my dental x-rays will show you just how natural my body is.

A girl I used to work with was on Depo Provera, and she got wicked PMS after starting it. Before, she was never irritable, or had cramps, or anything. But afterward, she had to call in sick for work for a day every month because she couldn't get out of bed for her cramps. She also was horrible to be around for a couple of days!

And you are a wonderful man, StrongRad. I wouldn't dream of asking my boyfriend to go buy that stuff for me. He'd start out with good intentions, then get distracted by the Star Wars toys and come home with 3 new Wookiees but no tampons. It's just easier to go myself.

SUpermarkets are now selling "Aqua Dog", bottles of beef and chicken flavoured water for dogs.

Now, I don't think dogs are so fussy as to turn their noses up at regular tap water after going walkies.

That company is gonna die.... from lack of sales.

Okay, I'm going to try to talk about this period thing without getting too graphic. I think what That Goblin is talking about is a birth control pill called Seasonale, and I think it's weird. I've also read that you can take your birth control pills constantly (instead of taking sugar pills for a week) and prolong your period indefinitely. I think that's got to be bad for you somehow. I don't know about some of you ladies, but I wouldn't consider that for a second. I'd much rather be inconvenienced for a few days every month than do something that seems so unnatural. Okay, this isn't really a stupid product rant as much as it is a stupid commercial rant. The commercials that they used to play for Fisherman's Friend cough drops (where there was a fat lady trying to get all sexy for her husband, and a couple of other ones) said at the end "Fisherman's Friend. Affects You" or something like that. Something that always bothered me was that, on the screen, "Effects You" was printed. GRAMMATICALLY INCORRECT'D!! "Affect" is a verb, "effect" is a noun. I always thought I should write them a letter.

Reading the Wikipedia page, it looks like there's a certain amount of nastiness associated with the shot, but in principle I have a hard time discounting anything as "unnatural", considering the society we live in. I can't remember the last time I undertook anything health-related in a "natural" way. One look at my dental x-rays will show you just how natural my body is.

Studies have shown that Depo causes heart problems, though. My wife got off of it because of her fambily's health history and whatnot. Note to self: Holly does not need Depo Provera... On the bright side, she wouldn't send me to WalMart for tampons and whatnot (yes, I do go and get them... I'm a wonderful man ) Actually, I've heard more about a possible Osteoporosis-Depo link than I've heard about possible heart problems. A girl I work with said she has to have bone density scans every year (I think, it could be 6 months) before she can get the injections. My girlfriend isn't on any BC right now, but she was thinking about Depo, cus she doesn't trust herself with taking a pill at more or less the same time every day.

One of my forgetful friends has the same problem - she forgets hers all the time. So she's been looking into the patch - I don't know if it's available in Canada yet, but that might be an option for your wife. It's kind of like the nicotine patch; she can stick it on her belly or her hip or her bum, and she has to change it once a week. That's still easier than remembering a pill every day, though. That makes it easy. I just walk in there, find someone in the isle and go "I need these." Finding someting is a lot easier when I know what I'm looking for. It's really funny when my buds see me there. They get all "oooh, we see who's in charge.." Well, it's no secret, when a guy like me gets a girl like her, she calls the shots, and I got no prob with that People say she's REALLY gonna own me if/when we get married. WEEEE! LOL Anywho... She's thought about the patch, my friend Rachel uses it, and it seems to work pretty well. I do have a "dumb product" to gripe about.... The Monster Thickburger at Hardee's/Carl Jr's. Nothing says "DIE!" like 1500+ calories and 50+ grams of fat, not even counting the drink and fries. I love their burgers, but this is just a bit extreme.

Did anyone see the "nesc quick" cerial commecial? First, the bunny jumps out of the box, and takes a kid around the world to turn it into chocolate. Next, it zooms back into the kid, sipping the milk. But the one thing that caught my eye was the kids laugh when he sips the milk. It looks so fony, and why would the kid laugh when he's siping on powdery milk? You see the kid laugh, but the sound of the laugh isn't even synched with the kids moving mouth! The sound of the laugh stops, but the kids mouth is still moving! I can imagine kids running to there parents saying "Moomy! Daddy! We gotta buy this cerial! The magic bunny will come out of the box and play with me! Then, he turns the world into chocolate. And when the cerial is mixed with milk, it make you laugh like a maniac! BUY IT! I hate sugared cerial commercials! Kids thesse days, all they eat is chocolate breakfast, because it tast good. Honey bunches of oats tast good! So does that quaker harvest cruch stuff! Come on kids!

Yeah, that new Bacon egg omlette sandwich thing that they have a BK i just way too much. It might as well come with a side of lard. I'm surprised that there aren't cardiologist waiting outside ready to give you their cards.
