I can play:

Piano
Keyboards
Keyboard type instruments
Pretty much nothing else, except this weird thing I got (which is also a keyboard instrument)

And I'm going to learn another instrument: accordion.

...Which is... also a keyboard instrument.

Yes, you are correct in assuming I'm lame. Image

Hey! You assumed that I assumed that. :p

But seriously, the keyboard is, IMHO, one of the most beautiful and easy to operate instruments ever created. One should never be ashamed of playing it. (Bach/Handel FTW)

I've played the recorder for ten years. It's a great instrument, but I'm bit tired of it by now.

I just started playing piano, and I kind of teach myself.
I don't have a teacher, I just watch YouTube videos closely, and play what they play.
I'm learning Butterflies & Hurricanes, by Muse, Narcolepsy, by Ben Folds Five, and I have already learned Brick, by Ben Folds Five.

I've played the drums for like... four years.

It was just kind of spontaneous when I started I had never really played any instruments before.

I've always wanted to learn the piano. If I decide to minor in Music Industry Studies in college, I'll have to take a couple piano classes.

My mom teaches piano, but for some reason, I don't play it at all. I play guitar and trumpet. I used to play trombone, but then I made trumpet my primary instrument.

I can play bass/guitar, sort of. I used to play Trumpet in Elementary School, but I never took it seriously. If I had known I was going to be become a rudie one day I would've taken it seriously.

I'm learning guitar right now.
Only know a few basic chords so far, no songs or anything.
Oh well, that's what you get when you're too cheap to get lessons...

Once you learn Smoke on the Water, you've mastered the basics.

I've tried to play guitar a couple times. The only problem is that I have to contort my hands into uncomfortable positions to play any chord other than G major and E minor, and pressing down on the strings feels a bit like pressing my fingers against a dull knife.

That's why I'm sticking to piano and percussion.

I'm okay at the guitar. Nothing great, but I think I'm getting good at it.

No lessons, either.

Too many sixteenth notes, I think.

Ah, the recorder. Reminds me of elementary school music class... about some 15 years ago!

Ahhhhhh, yes... I, too, remember the recorder from my elementary school music class (significantly less than 15 years ago). Why did the elementary school people choose one of the crappiest musical instruments in the universe to require kids to play anyway? Definitely a Mysterious Mystery...

I can surmise two main reasons... firstly, the simplicity of the instrument itself; and second, craptacular music budget. I'm even surprised most primary schools still have music education. It's a sad state of affairs.

You don't understand how badly I want one of those, my friend! Those get some of the most interesting sounds.

I want one of Moog's MIDI theremins.

& a Chapman Stick.

I'd also like to build a PVC Instrument, like Blue Man Group. But I currently just play the guitar.

Piano: ~9 years, on and off
Percussion in school band: 6 years (going to quit after this year's over)
Violin: 1 year in 5th grade, then quit
Drum set: 2 years in 7th and 8th grade, then quit
Bass guitar: 1 1/2 years
Alto saxophone: <1 year

Next, I want to at least learn some basic chords on guitar so I don't feel like an idiot. And then maybe clarinet, and AP Music Theory next year.
