You can play the opening riff on a plain old 6 string it doesn't sound as cool but it works.

It's a little hard to tell, but there is abalone inlaid around into the binding and around the soundhole. The inlays are abalone hexagons.

Cmon, that Burns London is my guitar. I got it during one of those 24 hr store. Twas $300, so expensive it was not. I need to buy new pickups and bridge though. The bridge got messed somehow!

Count the strings. 1-2-3-4-5-6-7. 7 strings.

IMHO, 7 strings are for posers.

Well anyway, I didn't see that there was already a topic on instruments. But I do play gitaur. It's an Ibanez RG350EXBK. I love it. I'm also in metal band called Tritan. We're pretty good. We played 2 shows in the last month and we're finally getting off the ground.

Here's a picture of my gitaur:

Just so no one forgets. I need the attention to SURVIVE, after all.

Nice Ibanez, by the by. Imma be picking up a Les Paul purdy soon.
And with my birthday coming up, I might have to just pick it up as a present to myself!

i play percussion (formal, and also, very, very unformal), a tad piano/keyboard, i can improvise extremely well on the guitar, but i don't know each individual note, and basically anything that doesn't require lungs.

I play the trumpet. Not to brag, but I'm pretty good at it. I also play the guitar. Not to brag, but I suck at it.

I play guitar. I remember a few years ago I got my friend Adam inspired to start the guitar, and now, he's the lead guitarist in a band called The Mystery Tramps.

I'm not deciding on 'one' instrument per se - I want to eventually be equally proficient at acoustic guitar and keyboards, like a multi-instrumentalist in a band. Right now I'm far better at the keyboard in writing songs and actually playing, but acoustic/electric guitars are way more fun to play. They'll get you a better-sounding Trogdor theme song, at least. :)

Not necessarily. I've known people who've been playing for a couple years, with training, and they still suck.

Some people just don't have the talent, I suppose.

I've been playing for around 11 years, just so ya know. I think Lumberjack Vegetable has been playing for a while as well.

I didn't even settle on one. Guitar, Bass, Drums, Piano, Trumpet, and indeed, Tuba. Somehow I work ALL THOSE into songs for our rock band.
