cool! i built my own guitar by buying parts from eBay. it has an SG body, strat neck, p90's. I also like playing piano, im alot better at that and i can play alot harder of songs.

so buy a guitar, dude OR Babe, you would be able to learn to play it, its hard at first, but you get the hang of it, eventually.

So, can any of you play a musical intrument? If so, what? Feel free to discuss different types of instruments, playing techniques, etc. You can post your music if you want to and show off your talents. I personally am teaching myself to play the guitar. I'm not very good, but I'ma learnin'.

My uncles taught me to play guitar when I was 11, and since about age 14 I've been teching myself anything and everything new. I picked up percussion when I was 14 too. I worked my way up to being content with my skills; I was playing everyday and if I didn't get any better I wouldn't have cared. Unfortunately, I sold all the drums I'd acquired two years ago and began focusing on guitar again. Over the past few months I've been buying stuff and reassembling a new drum kit; currently I've got everything minus a few chinese cymbals and my gong.

I've gotta start playing live. I've only played live three times. And my city, St. Louis, needs some musical schoolin'. It's not like we have a shortage of bands; we have a shortage of non-punk bands. Just a few days ago I went to a restaurant and a sheet-of-paper sized poster in front read "We don't book Emo."

I play the guitar. I just got me a new capo, which is actually my first capo. I didn't know how much they rule, but they rule. It's like you can make chords you've neer dreamed of!

I also learned to play the recorder in 3rd grade, but I'm in 7th no0w so I've forgotten most of it.

I used to play thr trombone, and now I play air guitar.

Yeah, capos are awexome for entering unchartered playing territory. Too bad mine got stolen at the last open mic I went to, or at least it looks like it did. Blargh.

I play guitar as well obviously (primarily acoustic, as I can't afford a good electric yet), and it's slowly threatening to replace keyboards as my dominant instrument. I've been seriously playing keys for a much longer period of time, though.

I'm quite a good pianist. I also play the clarinet. That I am not so good at.

I started learning piano in preschool, then took a long break from it. In 4th grade I got into playing the clarinet, but both of my clarinets died 2 days before the concert. In 5th grade we were forced to learn how to play recorders, which are the ultimate instrument with which to annoy neighbots. Finally, this year in Music we all have to learn piano, and while most people are tapping out melodies with two fingers, I seem to have retained my ability. I have even written music for the piano, which I will post here within the next week if possible.

If I had to rate myself on how well each instrument is played by me, I'd probably do it a li'l like 'dis.
Trumpet = 6
French horn = 7
Piano = 9
Kazoo=1
I played trumpet in the fourth grade, played french horn in fifth, and I have been playing piano since first grade. And let me tell you, I can shred some serious keyboard.

I play keyboards. And a little bit of ocarina (shut up). I can't really say I'm a pianist, though, since I haven't played the actual piano that much and my sheet music skills suck.
I'm a keyboardist. There's a difference.

Me, I can sort of play guitar (Sort of meaning I can play a few songs, and none of them are spectacular in the slightest), And MIDI. Yes, MIDI is an instrument.

~ Piano (about 9 years now)
~ French horn (4 years)
~ Trumpet (3 years)
~ Flute (3 years but I taught myself)
~ Xylophone/Mallets (4 years)
~ Mellophone (2 years)
~ Auxillary percussion (more of a random/if-needed basis)

More of a "pick up and play every now and again" basis:
~ Alto sax
~ Clarinet
~ Guitar
