No, I, I like that first idea. I really hate TKeely right now. I want him...to spontaneously...combust.

I think this sums up the feelings of many of us. To the tune of "I'll Sink Manhattan" by TMBG.

Well.

I am also disappointed, but I don't think you guys should be mad at TKeely; He had good intentions.

WHAT? TO GET OUR HOPES UP AND THEN RUIN THEM? CRUSHING OUR HOPES AND DREAMS OF AN ACTUAL FINAL EPISODE?

You make me sick.

You make me sick for spazzing out over a webtoon. :p

So...I'm not on the BSForums, and it says I can't view that, so....

TKeely lied, right?

Ahh well.

One final treat for us. Now I suggest we follow Matt's advice and latch on to something else.

Well, what I have to say is this-(posted it on BSforums)

Well, yeah, um...screw you TKelley, uh, I understand Matt's motives. DOn't hound him or anything. He's been having financial problems and such. SO he has to work on his carrer. Or summat. So don't hound him or anything. I agree with the person who sad that he gave us 87 Bonus Stage episodes for free, and that should be enough. If he doesen't want to, or can't, do it anymore, respect. Okay? Okay.

I think we were already latched on to Homestar. I mean, everyone is. But Bonus Stage was something completley different. Different kind of humor, different style. The fact that some dorkwad couldn't follow through on his promise is expected, however, because of this, and I quote Union of Darkness from BS forums-
Pff, I knew this would never follow through.

I mean seriously, some guy out of the blue and promises to pay matt to finish the series. Doesn't that seem even a little suspicious? The internet is full of liars, people.

OK. So, I would go look in the COuch SLave forum on the BS forums, and then check the topic "Matts a coward". Has he no respect! JERHAK! I dislike him as much as TKeely.

Aw, man...I wish he had made this one. It even referenced Futurama. ;_;

And here's my response to that thread:

"You know, while I'm definitely looking forward to The School Show, I really wish that Bonus Stage could have a proper ending. There were so many things left unresolved -coughCLOAKcough-, and so many of those episode ideas sounded really good. And that script was just hilarious.

[CENSOR'd] you, TKeely. You raised our hopes and dashed them quite expertly. And now I'm going to go cry."

(The censored thing being the D-word. I don't think it's allowed on these forums so I decided to play it safe.)

Well said.

Matt came on later saying this-

No money no cartoons. I quit Bonus Stage not because my family needs the money but because I need to start making money, their situation was a catalyst to my decision. I am getting work now, any future original series will mostly be for reel purposes and to attract clients. There's already 87 episodes of this, I don't need to keep showing this off to people, it's done its job.

Gah.

Who here thinks we need to raise some money? I know, it's a pipe dream, but when I'm depressed, I don't think rationally.

He added to the post-

I've also realized that frequented animated content on the web does not do itself any favors. People treat it with a "what have you done for us lately" attitude; Homestar Runner has thousands of dissenters who used to watch it religiously and then got bored of it. People got bored of BS. I got bored of it. Without multiple writers, artists, and directors, you can't produce much of one idea for too long without getting stale. Especially within a periodical confine. With webcomics you only release about 3 or 4 lines of script a day, with webtoons you're releasing the entire thing. It's just too easy to go from "this rocks" to "this thing is going downhill." It's also impossible to hold anyone to a deadline, and therefore impossible to hold a consistent level of quality.

Maybe there's a future in it, maybe I'll return to periodical content in the future. But at this stage of the internet, the calm before the storm, the system just doesn't work for now. Methods of payment need to be adopted, and internet audiences need to change, and projects have to be streamlined to be delivered with stable reliability (perhaps 2-3 minutes work better, for example, than 5-7).

Mandy, I'm with you. I'll raise any money to get this started again. But you have to respect Matt's wishes. If he doesen't want to do it, he doesen't have to, no matter what profit there is. If he likes the idea of making money, then so be it. But if he'll do the rest of Bonus Stage for however much we raise, well, there you go.

Yeah, I know.

The problem is, I don't think anyone ever complained about it going downhill. If anything, a lot of fans thought Season 7 was among the best seasons. I know I did.

The main thing I want is closure. As I've said before, so many things were left open-ended.

Yeah, I mean, if the last thing ever in Bonus Stage was a 404 screen and creepy etheral music then...yeah. Not cool.

Well, you can't say you can really blame him. If you had a group of people who would go as far as hacking into your computer to get something(I think that's what Bswiki did to get DAD, thanks very much once again {censor'd}), I would probably think that they deserved this.

And there's the School Show(and I think starting up High Score was once brought up) comin', so don't worry!

EDIT: Augh...who's Tim Buckley again? The name rings a bell....
