Ask her, after dinner ask her if wat she wants to do. It will either: Shoe her that you value her oppinion OR Make you look like a spineless slug that can make a decision for himself. My suggestion is to bring up your choices during dinner and the one she responds to more positively is what you go and do.

I say go for dinner, and have a couple ideas in mind of what to do afterwards. If she doesn't have any ideas as to what to do, then you at least will have a couple suggestions.

Like, "What say we go for a walk?"
"No way, Ramrod! Can't you see it's pouring rain and the sewage treatment plant has released its flood gates? Ew!"
"Oh, okay. Then maybe you wanna go to the movies?"
"No, it seems strange, but I went on a movie marathon and I've already seen everything that's playing at the local Googleplex."
"All right, maybe a game of pool, then?"
"Oh, okay. I don't know how to play, though, so you'll have to show me how to hold the stick all sexy-like like in the commercials."
"Score!"

I say that depending on your funds (and speaking of funds, if she offers to pay for something, either don't let her, or only let her pay for half. Like if you're playing pool at a coin table, you can alternate who puts in the quarters, but don't let her spend $30 on dinner.) you could do dinner, then a movie, then coffee so you can talk about the movie. That's always cool.

Well, she does play pool (quite well I might add), but every time I hang out with her (usually with her neighbor/my friend) we end up at the pool hall. ut who knows. I'ma going to call her soon anyways,

Go for a friendly type atmosphere, a pool hall sounds great provided it's not run by Mexican gangsters and then all the triads come and start poppin' caps like in that one movie I saw with that guy. Yeah...

That's more likely to happen in my town, we have like a 10:1 mexican ratio up in here!

Not that it's a bad thing

I wasn't singling out Mexicans, I could've used blacks, or the mob just as well.

Riiiihgt.....The pool hall is right next to one of the biggest churches in the city, so there's little violence, between the customers. The parishoners on the otherhand....

Ha! That never works. 'Sides, you could put somebody's eye out.

Call me cultured, but I've always liked going to art museums with friends n' fellows. It's a bit unusual, I suppose, but you can wander around and talk about what you see, and more importantly, what you THINK about what you see. Life and stuff. Good times.

And if all else fails ... Disneyland, baby. Good times, good times.

Weight lifting 4 times a week? Bleh. Try 6. As with holding off another guy, I think she'd be much more impressed if you were able to talk another guy down than if you could beat him up. Who's got more "power", the charismatic, scheming Strong Bad or the dumb, buff Strong Mad??

Me playing pool is not sexy at all. That is because I hit the ball completly different. I use two hands to poke, not one to mount and one to hit. Sort of like thrusting a gun with a bayonet. For me it works better than the normal way, even though it looks stupid :)

Anyways, Ramrod, good luck. Hope it works out(pronounced "OOt") well. Even if it doesn't, it's a big step for you.

Where'd this entire thread begin? That's right Chrono asking for advice. DERAIL'D! And in cases like this it should be ok, if he really wanted to, for Chrono to start a new topic and noth ave it locked for being a duplicate. If he said anything else in this one, it'd be instantly buried by discussion over Ramrod's situation. We should rename the topic...

No, it'll still be about me.

I called her, and we are going to do something this Sunday. We're not quite sure what though, but I'm going to pick her up at around 7 and then we're going to decide what to do. I just hope that her parents don't hate me.

A firm grip is always a sure fire way to get cool with her dad...but moms are a little harder, you have to spend enough time around her house to gather what she likes by observing her and what she does (do this spareingly mind you).

I baked a pie for my GF's mom when I first met her. That's a sure-fire way to go straight to the heart (Not in a homocidal way, mind you) as women love a man who can cook.

Here's a lesson to be learned: girls' parents often don't like their daughters' dates. Not for any particular reason, though. Just due to the fact that they're dating their daughters. You'll usually have a better chance with Mom than with Dad, since Dads seem to be a lot more protective of their daughters, and Moms usually are more lenient. The best thing to do is the firm handshake, and call them "Mr and Mrs So-and-So", and call the dad "Sir". Not in a yessir-nossir way, but just if he says something like "Nice car you've got there" then you can say "Thank you, sir". See what I mean? Just don't call Mom "ma'am". Nobody likes to be ma'ammed. Stick with the "Mrs So-and-So".

If you're really nervous, a nice thing to do would be to take flowers both for your girlie and her mom. They don't have to be fancy - just a $5 bouquet from the grocery store will do.

That's a lesson for all guys - we would rather have $5 grocery store flowers every so often than a $40 bouquet of roses once in a blue moon.
