The hairs getting trimmed, I know. But the reason why i'm worried about the parents i because they are immigrants from China. Lan (the girl that I'm going with) and her family moved here when she as 4, and she's almost 20 now. So yeah, they're not too happy about her going out with a non-Chinese guy.

Playing it cool can only get you so far sometimes. If the parents are very deep rooted in tradition, it's going to lead to hard times.

If they are a traditional family, it might be wise to bring a small gift for everyone (Mom, Dad, and any siblings who will be there). I know that in some Asian countries (Japan for sure) it's considered polite to offer a gift when meeting someone for the first time.

gifts are good. here is another tip. they are chinese right, do not lead with a hand shake let the father make the first move.

Well, I'm hoping that they might still be at work. They own a chinese food place, so I might be able to dodge that bullet.

Well, right now we're not kinda going out. We're just going out to do something. I'm hoping that eventually we'll actually be going out.

Oh, so you have a lady-friend, but not a girlfriend. I see how it is.

I'm working my way up to that. You have to start from the lowest rung to climb up. Unless your Fabio.

I don't think Fabio's gonna get maced...especially if he has that 'I Can't Believe It's Not Butter' thing.

Prove to me one way that I'm not. I'm like a Fabio impersonator, but better than the original.

You are not quote as built as Fabio. You have a little ways (more like a lot)to go.

Wait, do you like your friend's sister? Well, you know what, just tell him. My friend said that he'd rather have me go out with his sister than some other guy. But she didn't like me.....yarr......

Yeah but not all friends are like that. If I had a sister and you wanted to go out with I would say no.

Well, would you rather have some guy you've never met date your sister, or your friend that you know very well.

And Chrono said he doesn't really trust his best friend, which (no offence) seems like a strange best-friend relationship to me. If I had a younger sister, I'd be okay with one of my guy friends dating her, so long as he was a good guy.
I'd talk to him, Chrono, and if he's not okay with it, you'd have to decide which was more important: your best friend (who you don't trust?) or the girl you like.

I didn't fully trust ramrod until I had known him three years. trust is the most important thing.

Three years? Man....it usually takes 4 years...i'm losing my touch.

Chrono, just talk to the guy. It's the best decision out of all the choices.
