So... Family Guy returns with new episodes this Sunday! How exciting is that?

Sunday is my birthday, so it's like a special little birthday present for me. I just finished with seasons one and two on dvd and I'm very excited about seeing it again.

Man I can't wait. I hope they don't try to over do certain things and ruin it though. They need to keep it just the way it was.

I don't have to worry about that, as I just started watching it two weeks ago. =P

Anyway, it's an awesome show, so I'm sure to reap the benefit of additional episodes eventually. Huzzah!

I've had my compy set for weeks to grab this as soon as it shows up on BT.

Yeah, I'm a bad person.

How exactly does a show leak out before it airs, since you're the master of all that is BitTorrent?

Oh, I wasn't talking about getting it before it airs. Usually I get shows an hour or two after they air. However, some shows do become available before they air, because the networks beam the shows to local stations ahead of time (no more than a day prior, though), and pirates who happen to live in the right place and have a satellite dish (the old-fashioned hot-tub-sized kind), can grab the show right out of the air. Clever buggers.

Personally, I'm not really interested in seeing TV shows before they air. Rather, I use it like Tivo: Downloading shows means I can watch TV on my schedule rather than having to arrange my life around the network overlords' whims. The added bonus is that I get most shows in HD and commercial-free (because the clever pirates are nice enough to edit those out).

Edit: I take part of that back: Some shows, in particular Battlestar Galactica, are out on BT way before they hit U.S. airwaves because they air in the U.K. and elsewhere weeks before they do here.

Edit #2: Since I never really answered your question, take a look at this Engadget article. I get my feed from BTEfnet. Maybe later when I'm home I'll post the list of shows I "Tivo" in this manner.

Disclaimer: I am a despicable human being and advocate none of the above on the grounds that it is bad, wrong, and bad. Furthermore the Homestar Runner Wiki does not endorse piracy of any sort and keeps me locked in a cage twenty-two hours a day. But the cage has broadband and is bigger than the average dorm room, so who am I to complain? Hush a bush push sue me.

I've never really been a Family Guy fan. I've seen a couple of episodes, but altogether I like The Simpsons a whole lot more.

Though Stewie rocks my earmuffs.

Friday: my favourite book of all time makes its big screen debut.
Sunday: my favourite show of all time returns after three long years.

I can't remember the last time I was this excited. I'm hyperventilating.

Oh, and I don't have BitTorrent, but I have heard from a friend who does that the episode has indeed been leaked, and it is apparently awesome.

Apparently somebody over on the Doomworld forums has seen it and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Yay! Family Guy! Again!
I've been waiting for this for a long time.
So, I can't wait. Even though I'll probably end up missing it, anyway.

I love Family Guy. The new episodes should be amazing. I never really cared for Stewie that much, though.

And whatever happened to American Dad, that show after the Super Bowl? One episode and it disappears.

Well, my brother does have TiVo...

And about American Dad, I'm pretty sure that was just a sneak for a long time in the future when the show actually does air. So, I think it'll be back. But what do I know?!

Yeah but I hope that American Dad gets cancelled, I thought it sucked.

Me too. I really hadn't watched Family Guy until I found it on Adult Swim. Now I crave the new episodes!

They had a e-mail about that last night on adult swim. Somebody e-mail saying that Family Guy was like a child, and FOX was the parents, FOX didn't want Family Guy so it put it up for adoption. Cartoon Network adopted it and raised it as it's own and when Family guy was now all grown up the original parents want Family Guy back.

I didn't like that American Dad either. It just used the same formula that worked for Family Guy.

This Sunday on Fox, American Dad makes its debut along with Family Guy's return. I don't know how I felt about American Dad, though. I have a feeling it won't last very long, but I'll give it a few more episodes before I completely rule it out.

I'm gonna have so much TV to watch next week. I'm gonna be out of town all weekend, and still haven't watched half of this week's shows. Gah. I hope I don't run out of hard drive space again. :)

Which is great for those of us who don't get Cartoon Network. :)

its gonna be cool...yeah.... but american dad is basically the same thing except a different place, different people, and McFarland is using his "waiter" voice from the FG eppisode where peter gets chris a job at the Driving range, he uses that voice...... probably extras on the show might sound like peter or lois, or anyone else on that show, and eventually stated in Adrian 4:56, "Family guy will clash with american dad and a eventually, there will be Spin-Off's and eventually ending in the Show's departure"

umm..... im just kiddin with that Adrian 4:56, its not real, but what i stated after that MAY happen.....hehe

Yeah, except WAY too political.

I concur. People who know nothing about the world and politics (a.k.a. ignorant fools), will not get even one joke on American Dad.

Do you mean Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy? I'm about to go see that right now! I'm not expecting much. I was highly disappointed by the Series of Unfortunate Events Movie. Is it just me, or does it seem like Zaphod Beeblebrox has only one head in the commercial?! That would be horrific...

[EDIT] He did have two heads, but the movie wasn't as good as the book. I was disappointed. That's two in a row! (The first was the Series of Unfortunate Events Movie)

I did laugh at some of the jokes in the American Dad premiere, but I think probably all of them would have worked just as well, if not better, in Family Guy.

The small preview for American Dad (at the beginning of Fever Pitch) was absolutely hilarious, though.

I'll be watching Fox all Sunday. I can't wait.

I actually didn't enjoy American Dad that much. I agree with Dark Grapefruit that it would have worked better if it was Family Guy instead... less than 3.5 hours left!!!
