I remember my first flash cartoon. Well, not much really. Oh!! I remember. It was much worse than yours, let me tell you. I am still struggling with art though.

Umm...http://img126.echo.cx/img126/8875/5c-nobody.swf

That's it. I used Coffeecup, and since it's only text it shouldn't really be called a flash "movie".

"Easter Eggs": Click "cool" and then "simple".

I don't have that animation anymore. It's long gone. I miss it...

It takes a bit of ActionScript. First, make a button, and make it work. Then, when the frame you want the button to be on is up (and you want it to be like bru's, where the movie is stopped), get into the action script window for that frame, and type this:
Code:
stop()

Then, click on the button, and type this into its action script:
Code:
on(release) {
   gotoAndPlay(nextframe);
}

Then, in the next keyframe, start the sequence of the easter egg. Remember to add:
Code:
stop()

if you don't want the movie to replay itself.

I made one of a guy hitting a home run. It was design'd to be a gif, but I made it a flash just as a test. It turn'd out okay for my first flash thing ever. I don't have it saved on this comp right now though :blush:

When I first got flash, I was like ten. It's been about 3 years and I still suck. This was a giant frame by frame production I made. By the way, It was me speaking in the background...backwards....

Remember, I was 10.

Oh yeah...there were some subliminal messages....

My first one? Well it's obviously going to be terrible because I knew nothing about Flash at the time but here.

Warning: porplemontage will not be held liable if this Flash animation gives you seizures, headaches, heart attacks, or any other form of pain. Side effects are common and include any of the following: jittery feeling, gastrointestinal upset, sleep difficulty, depression, constipation, and paranoia. Results may vary, batteries not included. Also note that by watching the said cartoon you owe me $100.

This one took me, like... Forever...

This was made, like, 9 months ago. My flash has obviously improved.

I got two questions:

1: How do you put music on my cartoons?

2: How do I make a replay button?

I'm going to make a better one soon, which will OFFICIALY be my first flash. Because the crappy Coffeecup one does not count.

Make a new layer called "music", then drag a Flash supported music file (mp3, aac, wav) into the window. Then, just make frames until you don't see the oscillations (little blue lines going up and down). Or, if you want an auto-repeating music thing, just make a movie clip and do the above process.

2: How do I make a replay button?

Follow my guide, but instead of having the button's code as
Code:
gotoAndPlay(nextframe);

..make it:
Code:
gotoAndPlay(x, y);

...where x is the frame you want the button to lead to, and y as the scene you want.

I'm actually making my flash toon. It's gonna suck though. Hopefully I can get the voices all down.

I made a flash toon once, but unfortunately, it's on my cousin's computer. In Arizona. Ya.
So. No flash toon to show off here.

I made a flash cartoon. It's just a guy saying 'hello'. I don't know how to show it to you though.

Read one line down... >_>

Anyway, my first toon was just a frame-by-frame animation, as I didn't know anything about motion/shape tweens or movie clips. I'd rather not show it.

First in class we all did some shapes and stuff. Then on my own, finishing the practice way ahead of everyone, I made a running dude. Had several shapes- thigh, shins, torso, arms, and figured out how to rotate it. People on either side were impressed because it was so smooth, especially for a first-timer. So that's the first thing I made.
http://www31.brinkster.com/theredrock/strongbad.swf (link doens't work; you have to copy it and paste in your URL)
The second thing I made was Strong Bad going up the ramp over the buses, similar to my fav email "Mile". I did a pretty good jorb actually on that.
The third one was a real sophisticated journey of a falling 8-ball.
http://www31.brinkster.com/theredrock/fallingball.swf (same drill)

Haven't used flash since :'(
