What do you think are some similarities between hg2g and hsr? Characters, plot, style, etc.?

What do you think are some similarities between hg2g and hsr? Characters, plot, style, etc.?

With the possible exception of Dumpus and Marvin, I can't see any similarities. Except that HGTTG fans oftentimes seem to be fans of H*R. |

Ya they are awesome. Although they do have some similarities in stlye. Everything on both is coming way outta left field. Like the cooky," what exactly was that?" deal.

The only simarity I find is that fans of HGTTG will try to find connections between it and H*R. |

Nothing, nothing at all. Marvin = SS kind of, maybe. But one is a very British style of humour and the other... is not. |

Well, I fixed the title of this topic to make it more pleasing to the eye.  I don't know if this thread is going to do anything productive, since the two are so different, but I'll leave it for a couple of days.

Um... they are both irreverant forms of humor that don't follow the norm? Not really many similarities at all. Some people get it, others don't. |

The same horrible thing that happened to H2H2 will happen to Homestar when a movie comes. That's the only similarity I see. And saying Strong Sad = Marvin is like saying Strong Mad = Rocky. |

Yeah, now that i think about it, Marvin is almost like a Britsh-great uncle to Strong Sad. The only main comparison is the comical inferiority complex and dpression. ( but couldn't you imagine strong sad saying as he is tied to the shower curtain on decemberweeneve, "Thanks for leaving me behind"?) I also doubt that hsr will be moviemorized, which means we can continue to frolic and leap in stupid hsr bliss.  (but of course this is another topic)
