If you've read the novel, you can discuss that here, too, but particularly I want to talk here abou the amzing Broadway Musical, Wicked! Anyone else out there seen it? I think its a marvelous twist on a classic story, and that its one of the best musicals on Broadway, better than Phantom, but then again, Phantom seems to be a girl thing, so I'm no-one to judge. Anyway, post remarks on what you've read or heard about the musical, or if you've seen it, post your opinion. Elleka namen namen atum atum elleka namen! This thread shall not be buried! |

I saw it on March 30 in NYC & LOVED it! Being a techie, I loved The Wizard's head & the mechanical dragon the most. The show was really funny; I'd love to see it again. |

It's coming to Chicago soon (or it might be here, for all I know), and I'm going to see it eventually because it's going to be here for a long time and I'll probably need a long time to beg my parents for some tix. |

Never seen it, never read it, but I listened to the CD. Like three times. The "Loathing" song is the best. And the scarecrow thing. Those are hilarious. |

I've never seen it, but have heard good things about it. I'll keep an eye open to see if it comes to my hometown. |

It was kinda ironic to see the show a couple weeks after my high school did "The Wiz" as our spring musical. This fall, "Wicked" is coming to DENVER! YAAAAYYYY!!! |

It's quite possible that "Wicked!" will come to the Peace Center someday. It's a pretty big theater-place. And our town is the third-biggest in the state. |

I haven't seen it, but now I'm gonna be a party pooper about it: Why do they show the point of view of someone who doesn't actually exist? Wasn't she part of a dream? And also, in a dream, no one has a point of view except for the person having a dream. Just something to think about. My bad for raining on you guys' parade.

It's because of something called imagination, Shoppy. Or maybe Dorothy was a juvenile delinquent who thought Kansas was really Oz. "Good Glinda, will you take me home?" "What do you mean? Your home's a block away, on 14th Street." "Oh! I thought this was THIRTEENTH Street!" |

![]() It wasn't a dream in the book IIRC, that was only for the movie. |

well, my knowledge of this is limited to asking my mom about it and listening to the soundtrack. WAAAY better than that lion king broadway I saw in second grade. but the soundtracks of a musical and a person who actually saw it can tell you a lot. I can't believe they gave it a happy ending instead of the real, sick, and horrible ending it was supposed to have. And Ga linda or Glinda would have gone crazy and been like, "YOU ALL DROVE HER TO WICKEDNESS ALL SHE EVER TRIED TO DO WAS GOOD, YOU'RE SICK PEOPLE ALL OF YOU!!!" and escape on a weather balloon to the uncolored world of kansass and she would go on a quest and it would all be a dream world to her Take that, Shopiom! I loved the songs though escpecially "What is this feeling", "Defying Gravity" "No Good Deed", and umm... "Some others" those have been stuck in my head. Oh and since you cast that spell, this thread was turned into a scarecrow. Great now we can't use our normal attacks... at least we still have magic. SMRPG reference PM me for an explanation |

Loathing. Unadulterated loathing. For your [something]. Your face. Your clothing. Let's just say that I loathe it all. **doo doo doo doo** That song rules. |
