Yeah, this'll be a short thread, but still, I need some help here. After a number of circumstances, I've ended up with two computers (one is better than the other), and I need some ideas for what to do with the less-useful one. I'm caught between making it a file server or keeping it as a guest computer. |

Alienware cost a lot of money, and I mean a lot. Even if he sellshis compy's, he still might not have nough to get an Alienware.

Here are the two computers I have right now: The iBook G4 (15") The 17" Powerbook G4 (note: both are hand-me-downs, so they're not new, but they both have Tiger running on them) MHGuy wrote: or, you can sell both and get an even better one, like an alienware comp. thatd what id do. perfect for gaming, H*R, Postage, Music, Videos, and everything you need. totally awesome.
Considering Alienware is not what I need (the Powerbook runs everything I have in my dock at once with no skippiness), and doesn't run Mac OS, no. |

Sell it on eBay. Or use it to store files on. |

That's what I've been leaning towards (the eBay thing is out of the question, since my parents wouldn't let me go anywhere--we still have an Apple II), but there is a BYOC (bring your own computer) all-nighter gaming session, and I've been thinking about bringing both computers... hmm.. |

If you have 8000 songs on iTunes like my parents do, you should use it for back-up. |

Heh, funny story. The iBook used to be my main computer, and I had 3.7 days worth of music on it, and the HD got punctured after my sister tripped on the power cord, knocking it to the ground. This, by the way, is why I got the 17" Powerbook from my dad when he got a new computer. (the iBook came in the day I posted this topic, thus me ending up with 2 computers) |

You could use the older one for simpler tasks, such as word processing, image editing, and internet usage. |

My friend had a reeeally old computer, so he put a library of ZZT games on it. There games that take up about 1 kb per game. You can also make your own. Edit: I doubt it would work on a Mac though, unless you have virtual Windows, or Linux installed. |
