Maybe. I've heard it's not actually that good, and/or just one long ad for upcoming Nintendo games. But The Big N has managed to suck me in before, so I might.

No Nintendo promotion will ever be as awesome as PowerFest '94.

Well, I certainly remember the promotion where they sent me a copy of the first Nintendo Power.

Hmm. I have original copies of every issue of Nintendo Power from like issue one through issue one hundred something. Most of the early player guides too. Is that cool? I'd have to check when I let it go...

What number are they at now? (Just checked at their website and it looks like 184.)

I dunno 'bout that. That one movie with Kevin Arnold and the big dinosaur and the kid with the power glove was pretty cool.

I dunno man. PF94 was freakin' awesome. That it came to my town at all was cool enough. But they were only a couple miles from my house at the local mall! Entry was free, if I recall correctly, or if not it was some trivial price. You could play tons of SNES games, although unfortunately they did reset before long -- some of them too soon. There for the first time I got to play Lester the Unlikely (though I'd read about it in NP), some Bomberman game, and so on. Then they had the competition, which was a 4-player competition...as I recall, it involved SMB: The Lost Levels, Super Mario Kart, and I think two games I can't remember. I got a shirt and cap; my cousin J.R. got the same and he won a copy of Plok, which is still the most creative platform game I ever played. (I can kick his arsenic in video games, now, though. ;))

And every day it was there I'd go back for more.

I have an idea: any wiki or forum users that want to sign up should go by hrwiki: name. I'd be HRwiki:Kupo. Y'know, so we could identify each other (also, because the names could already be used). Signing up starts at 11:00 AM Pacific time today.

Post subject:  Oops....

Um, I made a mistake: my name is going to have to be TangerineDreams. Either that or JEFFW********* (not giving the rest due to the internet). ^_^;

So, look for me.

I would go to Camp Hyrule except that I work 40 hours a week and I'm only able to even turn my computer on every couple of days... and then usually only for a few hours... so I absolutely would not have the time.

And as for the "Call Me a Dork" thing, don't worry... I mean, I'm a 20-year-old college student who still lives at home and spends hours playing Pokémon or Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, (the game that completely absorbed my life for a few months... that's okay, though... I'm obsessed, what can I say?)

Not to mention the fact that my car is covered with Homestar Runner window stickies also proclaiming my nerdiness. Now all I have to do is change my license plate and make it say "pwnz0r"...

I actually went in that summer of '04. I remember it was pretty fun...but that was actually my first time in chat rooms, and I was younger....so I dont think I really grasped it. Sign ups only last two days in late July, so I'd recommend marking it on your calender as soon as possible.

Well, seeing as how this was posted back in July, my guess is that you can't. If you can, I'm-a venture to guess that the link posted above has something to do with it.

Come now, people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. What example would that set for the impressionable youngsters?

They run ads for Camp Hyrule every year in Nintendo Power. It sounds kind of interesting, I guess. It's not something I'd get into, though, even though I'm a HUGE Zelda fan.

You don't have to. You just sit at your computer, I guess, and try level your Basketweaving skill.

July of 2004.

You guys should work on your Necromancy removal at this year's camp. :p

You know, necromancy and posts like this are the reason threads get locked...

If you want to discuss this, I suppose you could/should make a thread if/when they release the info for this year's "camps"...
