No, I am NOT a long-lost relative of Ken Jennings. I have been a fan of JEOPARDY! for most of my life. This summer, I might have the opportunity to try out & be a contestant in their annual Teen Tournament! I am SO excited! I feel like God has blessed me with a mind for retaining facts, which is essential in any trivia show.

You're probably asking, "So, Ian, what are you going to do with the money if you win?". Well, however far I go (if I'm even selected), I plan to tithe to my home church (Colorado Community Church), put half in the bank for college/savings, and spend the remaining 40% to good use. Maybe I'll donate to charity, help my parents pay some bills, or buy a bunch of music stuff. Whatever it is, I will pray that God's plan for me will be known through this. If that's your thang, I ask for your prayers.

I will keep you posted as soon as I get more details along the way. Peace!

Um... congratulations... I guess...

Why might you have a chance to get on the show? What did you do?

Every summer, the signup form for the Teen Tournament is posted on JEOPARDY's web site. You fill it out, choose an audition city (Boston, Memphis, Cleveland, or LA), & people are contacted to come & audition. After that, the people who have passed the test get to come on & try to win!

Post subject:  I'm still confused!

So, were you contacted to come audition?

I guess that's pretty cool.

Go for it Ian, what have you got to lose? I want to try for the College Tournament. I watch Jeparody basically everyday and I answer most of the questions correctly.

Okay dude. If you make it to final Jeopardy, and you have no idea what the answer (question?) is, like you have NOOOOO clue, and you can't even guess, you TOTALLY need to write "What is the HR Wiki"! Wouldn't that be awesome? Ok, maybe not.... (Why did I just sound like a valley girl? )

Better yet, make sure you're winning by double plus one dollar, so it's not worth risking a loss for more money, so you can wager zero(0) dollars and then write "What is the hr wiki?"

Cool, if you make it on, I'll be sure to screem the answers at my TV in a futal attempt to give you the answers.

Hey, good luck, Ian. Keep us posted.

And if you do make it to the audition, here are some hints:
-The questions on the initial test are always harder than the ones on the show.
-They can ask some pretty random stuff. But don't try to stuff your brain with as many random facts as possible the week before. This is "you know it or you don't" stuff.
-Be as friendly as possible. They're more likely to pick someone the audience will enjoy watching play.
-Have as much fun as possible. Honestly, they like to see someone who isn't nervous: just there to have some fun.

(I'd tell you guys how I know this, but you probably wouldn't believe me.)

Okay I'm all better now. ;) You still didn't tell me though. Anywhos, if you do get on I'll be rootin for ya! And my parents'll be able to see you on tv, then maybe we can see each other finally! Break a leg! \m/

Thanks for the tips, everyone! I know from Final Jeopardy to wager just enough to be $1 ahead of the 2nd place guy if he bets everything. I'm pretty full of random facts anyways, so I think I'll do well.

Christy: I'M SORRY FOR NOT TELLING YOU! My head is just swimming with random thoughts & things. HUGSx5000!!

P.S. Look for the spiky-haired guy with rectangular glasses; if I get any further I'll let everybody know & post a pic of myself.

Hehe, I'm just giving you a hard time. ;) Oh and yes you should definitely have fun. That's your number one priority. That, and giving a shout-out to me when you win the million dollars.
