Prof. Tor Coolguy wrote: Not all Anime is like DBZ which goes on forever and ever. Some anime such as Evangellion(SP?) Samuri Champloo and LAIN(SP?) which are only about 20 or 30 episodes long. And then you have the others like Naruto which became a big hit and goes on for 100+ episodes and after that is DBZ in a class of its own with as many episodes and movies as there are stars in the sky.
291 episodes, 2 specials, 13 movies, and one lost OAV. It's not even funny how dissapointed I was when I found out DBZ isn't really 300 episodes long. |

At least madman entertainment keep it the same. Spirited Away was beutiful. if it were donevby 4kids, *shivers. And I have all the episodes of "Fruits Basket" plenty of blood, voilence, smoking, swears, and pervertedness. Shigure is so like me. But don't think it's not a good anime! It's great! I used to collect pokemon cards, cuz my friends were, and, being an 8 year old autistic boy, wanted to be accepted. I lothe Yu-gi-oh ever since it came out. My firends were also playing them instead of playing. And is it just me or do the newer "cooler" pokemon look more like digimon? My friend loves anime. She'll tell you whats good. |

Oh yeah. I love Furuba. It was actually translated almost perfectly. And the few, small snags they could have EASILY been dodged by incorparating a Japanese word or two, as well as some of the honorifics. Bleh.....better than nothing though. As for your Pokemon comment, I don't really think so. Haven't been paying attention much, but I don't the newer Pokemon look like Digimon.... |

Samurai Champloo has everything, blood, swearing, pevertedness (one of the characters was a prostitute and there was even a homosexual man). |

The concept with anime is, "The worse it is, the better it is," as far as I can tell from what you're saying. Party on. As far as my personal favorite anime, The Twelve Kingdoms, it has blood and plenty of it, as well as partial nudity. But not like, private parts or anything, but for example, in one scene there is a naked man standing behind someone's back, and the scene shifts between several points of view that obscure his... umm. |

I remember those episodes! My point with anime is that there should be: -A Well Thought Out Story -Blood -Unabashed Humor -No Censorship (Well, a little is fine) |

YES! I DID! With my friend! It's so great. It's really funny. But the plot and stuff is a bit confusing. Still awesome though. Definitely the best Miyazaki film yet (though I will admit I haven't seen Princess Monoke, Nadesico, or all of My Neighbor Totoro >_>;; ) |

This cartoon now is just a remake of the old cartoons that were out way back when.Oh no you didn't. Anyone who does not know the goodness that was TMNT needs to take a hike. A long one. Preferably to somewhere with access to the oldskool cartoon episodes ... nah, scratch that. If you weren't a kid when TMNT was new, if you never played the video game over at the roller rink arcade, and ESPECIALLY if you never ran around pretending to be the various characters on the playground with all your foot-soldiery friends, it won't make-a the sense-a to you. And on an entirely different track ... you know, I would've definitely seen more authentic anime by now if I hadn't felt so unwelcome at the comic book store near campus. Every time my friends and I crept in there to rent something, it was like a light went on: GIRLS?! WHAT ARE THEY DOING IN OUR DEN OF STEREOTYPICAL MASCULINITY?! I do remember a cute counter-guy with "sleeve" tattoos being very nice, though. Rawr. |

My Big Sister's lil' brudder works for a company called AnimeWorks, so I get all the anime DVDs for free. They're pretty nifty, and non-Americanized. |

Slasher Films reaching their bests...He-Man really popular...FREAKING GREMLINS! Sure, Eightees were corny, but c'mon. That was because of all the weird "EAT YOUR POTATO SKIN" PSA's and stuff. After research, that exists, too. I wish I could see un-dubbed anime. Freaking 4-Kids. Why dont they make it a kid show. "HEY, MY NAME IS RUBBERMAN, AND TODAY I'LL BE TEACHING YOU THE COLOR BLUE! THAT RHYMED!" |

you can google video some, or sneak into a video store in japan town(if ya have a big japanese population it your city or town), but dont pick up any hentai. they edit it cause the're aiming for the wee ones, its all about money at the end. |

Most anime DVDs come with an English track and the original Japanese, don't worry English subtitles are included. |

Just cuz of I think its fnny so much trouble is casued over a kid with a bat. But really, I just stick to good ol' american cartoons. |

I have no problem with American made anime. Though I don't atually call Teen Titans anime. I agree that the no-blood crap has to stop. Thats why I download the origional versions of anime that are subtitled. Marshmallow Roast wrote: As far as Teen Titans, I love that show. I downloaded the full version of the theme song for my iPod. I don't really think it can be classified as anime. It's a different kind of cool cartoon.
THANK YOU!!! |
