Muahahaha. It was going to happen sooner or later. Has anyone watched Monty Python's Flying Circus? If not you must, it is the greatest show ever... my favorite sketches were: The Spanish Inquisition, The Blue Cooker, Owl Stretching time, The Ministry of Silly Walks...What to do when attacked by fresh fruit...yeah i like a lot of them.

I get BBC America as part of my satilite(sp) package. Monty Python is on every weekend. My favorite sketch is Come here for an argument, The Lumberjack Song is great also.

I'm not sure if I prefer the Argument Clinic, the one where they plan to climb the Twin Peaks of Mt. Kilamanjaro, or The World's Funniest Joke.

I am a fan. I've seen a few sketches, although fewer than I'd like to have seen, in addition to Life of Brian (good, and I own it), the Holy Grail (excellent, and I wish) and the Meaning of Life (can't remember, don't own it)... I have heard some of the sketches on a record, as well, and The Spanish Inquisition is extremely funny. Somehow, I've seen enough to find it insanely funny, yet I still need to acquaint myself further...

I also have the Contractual Obligation album, though, and I've got to say, Bookshop is awesome.

Ah yes, Monty Python. You can't not like it. I have seen a few episodes and two of the movies. I also have two of the Monty Python albums on tape ("Another Monty Python Record" and "Monty Python's Previous Record"). My favorite sketches are Theatre Critic and Death of Mary, Queen of Scots.

Monty Python actually started a landmark in comedy. Before that it was all knock-knock jokes, slapstick and guys with cockney accents saying "What's up with you then?" "What's up with me then?" "Yes, what's up with you then?" "Oh, I'll tell you what's up with me then" etc.

Oh, the Upperclass Twit of the Year is high up on my list.
The episode where someone kept getting the strangest feeling of deja vu.... deja vu.... got the strangest feeling of deja vu... was also really funny.

And one episode where it said at the end of every sketch: It's a man's life in the....(eg, British Dental Association) and one guy got fed up and stopped the show.

Waaaay too many others to mention.

That guy who says "That's the end. Stop the program" wasn't just in that one episode, he was in a lot of them. I also like the Twits, and the one with the flying lessons.

The first time he came about was when Eric Eidle, playing an enlisted soldier, asked to leave the army because the people around him had guns and tanks, when all he wanted was to travel. Then the two Sicilian mobsters come in and threaten Chapman.

The milkman sketch always amused me. You know, the one where the attractive lady beckons the milkman in, he follows her upstairs, goes into a room, she locks him in, and he sees that there are twenty milkmen in there, in various stages of aging and beardedness.

Now we know why they don't deliver milk anymore.

Season two was the best.

My mom owns Monty Python's Previous Record and I love it. We also own Life of Brian. Oh, and she's recited many sketches that she's heard to me, though we don't own them.

It's all pretty fantastic. No one's mentioned the Spanish Inquisition scetches - especially the one that came at the end of the episode. Also, I know its part of a film, but the latin grammer scene in Life of Brian.

Ahh, I loved MPFC. I was watching MPFC since I was about Acekirby's size. Burn! :p

But no, I was way too young for that kind of stuff - maybe about five years old. My 1980's parents had no idea about censorship and impressionable minds. But the great thing about MP was that it was hilarious even though I didn't have a clue what was going on half the time.

But the best thing about it?........... Terry Gilliam's cartoons. No doubt.

(BTW..... did anyone see the South Park version of the parrot sketch, made in honour of the twenty-fifth anniversary a few years ago? FUN-AH.)

I remember several years ago when I was in the library, looking for movies to check out, when I spotted "Monty Python's Flying Circus." I asked my mom about them, and she said she didn't really like it, and I probably wouldn't either. Quite bent on making sure her 8-year-old daughter doesn't watch. I wonder why :P

Of course, later my dad tells me it's absolutely hilarious.

But yeah. I watch it on BBC when I feel like it. I went to see Spamalot on Broadway too :mrgreen:

I have not actually seen the show on TV, but one time I saw And Now For Something Completely Different, which was a collection of Monty Python's best skits from his Flying Circus.

It was great!
