Yuck. Splenda is one of the axis of evil. I mean, come on! It's fake sugar!

Although I suggest it if you go on a diet.

Toastpaint: I think the caffiene in any soda (save the decaf ones) is probably the culprit for most problems. I believe it was Dids who pointed that same fact out earlier.

DG - have you tried any exercise yet? Something that helps me is listening to music while I work out. Get the right tunes going, and it can help motivate you.

Was he both taller and thinner than you, transfixed by random Metallica songs, called you Monica to his Chandler, and quite suddenly turned into a possessive creep? Then yeah we did. So, uh. Kudos.

Equal's not the devil, but I HAVE recently gone over to the Splenda side. Join me! And receive a free toaster oven!

I can almost take equal. They make my grandmother's Kool-Aid with it at her nursing home, and it's not bad stuff. It's almost as good as sugar, and it probably would be, if they put as much splenda into it as I put sugar when I make it at home..
I like splenda because it's not Neutra-Sweet... That stuff gives me headaches.. I really don't know if I want to eat anything made from coal tar.. I'm not sure which one, but one of those artificial sweeteners was made from coal tar derivatives...
While Splenda rawks, I'm-a stick with the real deal, white as the driven snow, sugar.. It's a pretty pretty good. I just eat less of it.

Dieting is easy if you have a mother. She just tells me to eat what I give her, and ONLY that. Of course, I just got home from a vacation to Point Pleasant without her... saltwatertaffyfudgecottoncandypopcornsodapizzaburgershotdogsandtherest...

I drink tea (Coffee: Hey, you want in on some o' this action? MR: No, you're disgusting.) sometimes, and when I do, I use any kind of non-sugar sweetener, I can't tell the difference. I do have a problem with fat-free ice cream that has isomalts, which give me stomach aches.

Didn't Mr. Atkins die of a heart attack as a result of eating his own diet?

According to Wikipedia, Dr. Atkins' heart condition (cardiomyopathy), has nothing to do with diet. But anyway, that's not what killed him. He cracked his head on the sidewalk when he slipped on some ice, went into a coma, and never recovered. It's a pretty hot topic of contention as to whether his diet affected his health. Check out that dang article.

There was some idiot on the news claiming that Atkins gave him a heart attack, but the jerk was eating cheesecake for like 5 meals a day.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't cheesecake have lots of sugar in it? If so, then wouldn't it be a diet no-no on Atkins?

Needless to say, when you eat cheesecake like you're the KOT, then you're gonna die of a heart attack. No if's and's or butt's about it.

I'm 14 and 125 pounds.

I think I'm doing well, but I REALLY need to cut back on sugary foods.

9 yr. old and 78 pounds.....that's sort of heavy for age 9 if you ask me! That can be a good thing or a bad thing...

Actually if anyone's looking to gain OR lose weight, I'd like to see if anyone cares to experiment with my simple workout. Takes a few minutes a day and needs no weights- just a little standing room, that's all.
Stand up, with your elbow at your side but arm bent so your hand points skyward. Whip your hand down as fast as you can, then when your arm straightens, whip it back up. Just your hand going up and down, over and over. You'll look psycho.
To gain weight: do a set of 32 repetitions at 100% speed each hand, then do 3 to 11 more similar sets with at least 5 minutes' break between, depending on fitness.
To lose weight: do a set of maybe 200 to 400 repetitions each hand at 50% speed, then do another one.

Hmm.......I did 1,000 consecutive jumping jacks once.....

I did a leg raise for five minutes..once...then I couldn't stand up. That's where you lay down on your back and lift your straight legs about 6" from the ground. Fun...

Those hurt like heck if you do them for too long. I should expect that you couldn't stand after five minutes of that.
