I like Holiday and American Idiot, though. That was the case with Mr. Brightside. And that manic Monday song that plays every dang Monday. I hate it when they play songs over and over again on the radio. That gets really annoying! Like in the case with Boulevard of Broken Dreams... oh boy! I'm also sick of Oh! Canada because it gets played over and over again! |

(By the Man in Black, I mean Johnny Cash, not the undertaker... he can't sing too well, but I hear he can play a guitar) See also: Les Claypool's cover of Hot Rod Lincoln DarkSide does have a point though: See Blues Traveler's cover of[i] Free Bird, Ozzy Osbourne's cover of Stayin' Alive, or that ripoff of Kashmir that Puff Daddy did for the Godzilla Soundtrack. guh. I hate how phpBB automatically closes tags after you've closed them. |

Yes - that's pretty much the first song I think of when we're speaking of fantastic cover versions. I can't even think of it as a Nine Inch Nails song anymore, as good as the original is. The instant Johnny Cash touched it, he made it his own. That said, I definitely agree a lot of covers are incredibly pointless (it's especially a peeve of mine when a band has a hit covering a song that was already known to begin with, and newer listeners only know the remake instead of the far superior original), but it's certainly not written in stone that all of them are. |

That song was great! you don't know what you're thinking! |

Though rather a tribute, Yes did the entire "The Wall" along with Deep Purple, Toto and a bunch of other guys. And worst song evar would have to be...Anything by Green Day after they went Emo. Seriously. they were prooty good in the 90s. Yes you emo childs, they existed before American Idiot. *mutters something about the irony of the name and the fans who listened to the song* |

Ya, Green Day was one of my favorite bands until (grrrrrr) American Idiot. They became overrated, overproduced, and instead of being out there for the fun they are out there for the fame and money. Boulevard of Broken Dreams is pretty high on my "worst song" list. |

The song that starts "The stars will cry the blackest tears tonight." WTF? Take your Emo crap somewhere else, please. This song quite possibly has the worst lyrics of 2005. |

I thought a while and decided on Lee Greenwood's God Bless the USA. I actually didn't mind this at first, but yes, I can see where you're coming from. Only good thing about that song is the Capital Steps' parody, "God Bless my SUV." http://www.capsteps.com/sounds/suv.mp3 And I like green day. But i'm sort of a n b when it comes to punk rock.

Any song with korn on it will turn out disastrous. Korn doing "Another Brick in the Wall" is an INSULT to Pink Floyd. Norman: Ditch Greenday and do some deeper research. There are much better bands out there. If you're serious, don't stop with the Sex Pistols either. Proud Anselmo - I hate Fall Out Boy with every vestige of my being. They took one of the deepest songs ever written and destroyed it. They did a horrible cover of Joy Division's "Love Will Tear Us Apart." And for that... I am so angry... Also, the used (another fake "punk" band) and my chemical romance (the biggest group of posers I've seen since AFI, come on... AFI used to sound like Blink 182 in their earlier days, and now they put on makeup and are trying to act like the misfits for only the money...posers) doing Under Pressure from David Bowie and Queen... downright insulting to Bowie and Freddie Mercury. I haven't thought of a worst song yet, there are too many to choose from... |

Santa The Grave - I've heard it, sorry, dude... I didn't like it. It's great that Dave Gilmour and Roger Waters praised them (Who wouldn't want such praise from the original artist for doing a cover??)But, there was a cover done by Tom Morello and Layne Staley that is incredible. It's my favorite cover of Another Brick in the Wall. |

I recently had the misfortune of hearing a horribly awful song. John Mayer, being a very talented musician, iI thought he could of pulled off a cover of The Wind Cries Mary and a honor him at his failing effort to cover Jimi but the song was like nails on a chalkboard. Oh yes, another one was Aerosmith's (uuugh) cover of the Muddy Waters classic, Baby PLease Don't Go. It sucked for 2 reasons 1. It was Aerosmith 2. Only 2 people did Baby Please Don't Go well: Muddy Waters and Van Morrison. |

Does these have to be real songs? Because that Burger King "Bacon CHeddar Ranch" commercial was like the worst thing ever. Remember how they were playing it ALL THE TIME a while back? And isn't that guy a famous singer, or something? It was terrible, and it always gets stuck in my head. "Come and get it!" Ung.. jibblies. |
