8-Bit Theater

Okay, I've noticed that lots of people here like 8-Bit Theater. I know that at least a few of us, myself included, have gone off-topic in other threads because we start talking about 8-Bit related sigs, etc. So, I was struck by a moment of inspiration: I would start an Official 8-Bit Theater thread, so we can talk about it all we want and not have to worry about going off-topic! :-D

So I guess I'll start. I love 8-Bit because Brian Clevinger, who created it, has a great sense of humor that's so quirky you've just gotta laugh. Also I love it because I'm a big nerd and I catch most of the nerd in-jokes.

I really don't have a favorite character, 'cause they're like my kids and I love 'em all.

As for my favorite moments in 8-Bit, this has definitely got to be one of my favorites... when the bed is squeaking and it turns out it is just Black Belt practicing his kung-fu on the bed... but I have to say that I also LOVE the whole Vilbert the Vampire thing... especially when Red Mage plays Rock, Paper, Scissors... "Show me something that beats a Natural Twenty, and I'll show you hateful lies!"

But my current favorite exchange in all of 8-Bit... and it's a close call... has got to be This One (Scroll to the bottom of the page.) "Hyperdimensional, I say!" Oh man, I about died laughing!!

So... who else wants to discuss 8-Bit? I'm game! :mrgreen:

I like Red Mage. He treats the world as though it were one huge D&D game. I like when he tries to use his character sheet to cheat in what would be real life to him (of course, it's Final Fantasy, an electronic RPG, so shouldn't he be trying to use Game Genie codes instead?).

How about Order of the Stick ? Have you read any of those? It's like 8BT, but based on D&D. It's hilarious, too.

And how about that white mage(pretty hot for an 8 bit rendering)

But I think that Black Mage is the funniest,after all he's the resident stabmaster of the party.

But I got to say,thanks GIR I've found something to do when there's no H* cartoon(I started 2 hours ago and I'm already on #159)

I like Black Mage. He's hilarious! Like when he was using all those pick-up lines on White mage, and White mage kept hitting him with a hammer, but he just kept at it until he was at the point of death.

I like the downloadable flash animations. Especially the one that's Garland vs. The Imps. That routine with Red Mage is hilarious (be sure to check out all the possible endings!).

Also Red Mage is funny when he dosn't want to use any of his skills because it'll make him less useful.

I love Red Mage so much. It's so cool how he thinks he can do anything by altering his stats, and how he always has crazy plans that somehow end up working. My favourite ep is the one where RM escapes the spiderweb by giving himself a +20 in Escapology.... after he escapes.

I like to read Twinkin' Out with Red Mage, too. That's where all those ninja/pirate/dinosaur/Febreze jokes originate. Of course, Tom has enlightened us to the truth: that no force in the cosmos can compare with the power of the popular search engine Google. Not even President Bush leading a team of ninjas armed with Febreze.

Black Mage is the best. He's so funny and stabbity. Unfortunately, some people take him WAY too seriously and try to stab me with pens.
