That'd be awesome. Too bad no real people can afford it or I'd be there in a second. I would've already signed up.

I hope it becomes more accessible to regular people in the near future, because that would be one of the greatest moments of my life.

Now I just need to save up $99,999,836 in the next three years. Think I can make it?

And so it begins. I don't think you'll have to wait too long for it to become affordable, Jitka. It wasn't that long ago that only the rich could afford to fly in regular planes, and now mostly everyone can.

I'll be there when it becomes more affordable. I've ALWAYS wanted to go into space.

I've heard stuff about that kinda thing a while ago.

Yeah, it WOULD be cool. Somehow...someway...I'll get the money.

I'ma be the first one to build a mansion on the moon. Of course, there would be the problem of meteors.

I don't want to go around the moon. I'd just like to go into space far enough to see the earth from up high. Higher then an airplane. I bet that only cost, like, 50 million. :p

"It's Big Boo's moon party from outer space, with R2D2 playing the bass!"

I'd be afraid of crashing or something going wrong in space. That'd be on my mind from take-off too landing.

That's why I wouldn't want to go on the first trip.

Virgin Galactic: $200,000, with a $20,000 deposit. Weee.

By the time you'd have built it, I'll have invented ray sheilds.

Or deflector shields.

Or "teleportation shields" where the incoming object would hit the shield, and be teleported to the opposite side of the shield, to create the effect of something going through the shield without actually going through the shield.

If I had that kind of money, I'd go on that in a heartbeat.

That is just so awesome.

You realize, now, that we're taking steps into what we envision as the "future", the Jetsons future where everyone flies around in space and does things we couldn't possibly imagine before?

That's very true. Plus, did you hear about these?

They're FINALLY making those flying cars they've been promising since the '50s! And they're semi-affordable!

I WANT ONE!! Seriously - I've been waiting for this day. I said it earlier in this thread, and I'll say it again:

And so it begins...

Strap me in, shut the door and crank a loop of Magic Carpet Ride and Spirit in the Sky! I'm ready to go!
Sadly, I don't have the 100 mil, but I'm sure I could get it.. All our soldiers are in Iraq, and they don't have the tank unit at Fort Knox anymore..

Those have been around for about 6 years now! I read a book about them and their owner like, well, 6 years ago. It was also featured in a book by Clive Cussler.

Anyway, I'd love to be an astronaut, but I wouldn't want to fly in the space shuttle. If they replace school bus fleets every ten years, then why not something that goes into space?

Better Shuttle than Apollo system (Saturn V).. Saturn V is cool and all that (the loudest man made noise when it was first fired, except for nuclear explosions), but let's look at the computing aspect.. The module had less computing power than my calculator, and NASA's ground based stuff had a little more power than the server that hosts this forum.. THAT was brave..
The Shuttle isn't too bad. It's a shame that, after 25 years, they still have problems with the foam on the tanks (they had fewer problems when they painted the tanks).. I think it has something to do with my friend Jordan working for NASA. That's what you get when you let WalMart Sporting Goods associates around all that high tech stuff.

That would be something, but I'm still saving up for a jetpack. Back in the 50's they said we'd have 'em but now, but you just cant trust the past. They also said we'd be living on the moon and contact extraterrestials (um...sp?) by now too.

A jetpack would be awesome. And if I had enough money to spend 100 million dollars on one trip around the moon, I would probably buy my own rocket. Then I could take as many trips around the moon and make money by taking other people. Not that I would need any more money if I had enough to buy a rocket.

there are jetpacks available for sale, they only fly up to 30 or 40 feet high, and are literally 20 years old, and use alor of fuel. bill gates has one, so does Michale Eisner.

If I had a jetpack, it would be awesome. I would fly over to Jitka's house and drop stuff on it. Then he'd run out and be all, "AAAACCCCCEEEE!!".
