T_T I came SO FREAKING CLOSE to having a lucid dream last night. I was in my bedroom, lying on my bed awake, but it was a dream. Then I saw Fred Flintstone walking by (yeah, I don't know either) and thought "Hey, this must be a dream..." THEN I WOKE UP. I can't believe it. I WAS SO CLOSE. >_< Oh well, tonight I'll try every method of inducing lucid dreams known to man. And eat too much chocolate and bananas. |

Sometimes I have to just close my eyes and force myself to think, to focus on the dream, and to force myself to stay asleep. Luckily it worked wonders in my most recent lucid dream, and I got to see the wonderful ending. But I'm not gonna tell you what happened in it, or else you'll laugh at me.

FORUM DREAM/ALMOST LUCID DREAM (again) The forum dream: I was looking at some fanfic by Teff. It involved dragons and someone telling someone to update something (is this my subconscious trying to get me to update DS?) Then I clicked on a link saying "Ramrod's Favourite Pictures" and saw a photoshop of camels that looked like cats walking across the desert while sharks jumped out of windows. o_o Something looked odd about the forum, I don't remember what... The other one: I was apparently in Heaven. I was standing on a cloud in the sky and there were some weird curly gold pillars, like half a foot high, on some other cloud. I think this was in 3rd person... Suddenly something just...clicked...and I realized this was a dream. I started to get a bit light-headed so I shouted "INCREASE LUCIDITY!" a couple of times, which helped...it took a minute to figure out how to actually move. I was going to start flying when I woke up. T_T Well, at least it was longer than last time... |

Every single lucid dream I've ever had was screwed up enough to have me wake myself up, which kinda sucks, because I really want to party with Douglas Adams. |

T_T I want to have a lucid dream! Any things that help your chances in getting one? Well, first, any techniques to help me REMEMBER my dreams? |

Eating chocolate is supposed to help, or keeping a dream journal. My dream recall just went up from like 3 a month to 3-5 a night for no reason, so I dunno... There are tons of techniques, just read the wikibook. |

There are tons of techniques, just read the wikibook. I read parts of it, and the disclaimer said I could get sleep paralysis, urk. How much of a risk is that? Knowing how badly I suck at dreaming, it's prolly a higher risk for me. |

I get scared easily, too. XD So, it pretty much sucks to be me. At least having more vivid dreams and remembering them would be nice. |

I find that reading/playing video games before bed tends to help my dream vividness. I think it's because it's stimulates my imagination. |

I once had a dream the me and three of my friends were sitting on a sofa. We built a birdhouse, only it was more like a birds next. Then we put it on an upright piano. A big bird came, but my one friend ran up to it and scared it by playing the accordian. The bird then jumped off of the piano and stood on the ceiling. Upside-down. We yelled at my friend, and I think that the incident repeated, except with a tropical bird. Less recently, I had just watched star wars episode 1, and I was 6 or 7. I had a dream that one of the battle robots was stuck in my ceiling (folded-up), and was shooting constantly at the ground. I stood up in bed and laughed at it. It then fell, unfolded, and shot me. The world melted and I woke up screaming in bed. It was very scary at the time. The problem is, I can't remember most of my dreams... |

HOLYCRAP ANOTHER LUCID DREAM (that I actually stayed in for longer than 2 seconds) It was quite long so I'm not gonna post all of it here, just the interesting parts. It started out with me standing in the middle of a road, watching cars go by. One just disappeared in front of me for no reason, so I thought "Hey...this might be a dream." I plugged my nose and found out I was able to breathe, and became lucid. Started yelling "I'M DREAMING!" to try and stay in the dream...anyway, I eventually made my way onto a sidewalk and decided to try some cool stuff. I covered my eyes with my hands, and yelled out "SUMMON SOME PEOPLE!" Suddenly the sidewalk was filled with people...tons of them. I remember 2 vividly: A little girl in a ruffly purple dress, with a smiley balloon, yelling out "I'm the little girl everybody loves!" Ego much? The other one was far more interesting... It was Neo from The Matrix, or at least a Neo lookalike. He had this air of power around him, like he was really strong or something. I started talking to him.... conversation went like this: "Hi." "Hello there." His voice was really deep, kinda creepy. I had remembered something about 'shared dreaming'...there could be real people dreaming in your dream. So I asked him: "Are you dreaming too?" "No." "Aww. What's your life story?" "Life?" I was getting pretty weirded out, so I just walked away. After some non-interesting happenings, I found myself in an alley. Tried flying- jumped up into the air, but just floated back down. So I covered my eyes and yelled "TELL ME HOW TO FLY!" A red plastic plaque-like thing on a stick appeared in front of me...it was a list of 8 things, supposedly on how to fly. I don't remember all of them, but here's what I can remember: -Gabbly (yeah, that'll help me fly) - Some screwed up web address. Instead of http:// it was james://. -Something about wild dogs -? -? - "Happy Future". Without quotes. Doubleyouteef? -? -? Then I woke up. That was weird, but freakin' awesome. |

Seeing as a lot of people are talking about Lucid dreams, let me tell you one a while ago. I was somewhere, I'm not sure where, but then the bear holding the candlestick from Barney came in. I'm telling you guys, this fake bear was really, really, really creepy. It made my cousins and I run away from the Tv after seeing the kids in the cave and then running away. That bear comes in saying "Who's there?" or something like that. He gave me nightmares. Anways, that bear came in, and I said "Ha! This is a dream so I can just wake up now!" And I woke up. Then I went to sleep. The thing is, I passed the checkpoint in that other dream, so I was right back with the bear. But, he didn't do anything to me. I do remember he joined some sort of party like in Paper Mario, and we all went on some crazy crap journey! Sorry, forgot the details. |

Well, I think I'm at least getting better at REMEMBERING my dreams, because I remembered last nights (And I wrote it down on a notepad which I'mma start doing). I was talking to my dad about something with the shower, and he kept asking "Did it work?" and my response was "No." That went on for a while, then I remember taking the wireless internet signal amplifier out of my karate I saw last night and showing it to my dad because it apparently worked there, and mine doesn't. |

Man, I've been trying to have lucid dreams for a while. I look at my hands before I go to sleep and say, "I will look at my hands when dreaming." It never works.

It never works. ![]() Eh, the best I've ever had is a false awakening. Or that time where I said I wanted to have a dream about this before I went to bed, and I did. |

Hmm, probably. It only worked a few times, but that is a good idea. I'll try that tonight. Plus all other methods used to get a lucid dream. |

A few years ago, in order to have a lucid dream, I would imagine that a circle of spirit figures was weaving itself around my bed into a protective circle, to guard me against nightmares. IT worked at the time, but I don't do it much anymore... |

I had a dream a while ago in which I was speaking face-to-face with Alec. It felt so surreal, actually watching his mouth move as he spoke. |

I just had a dream where I found a bag filled up with all kinds of candy. Chocolate lollipops, gummi worms, gummi blob things, heart-shaped chocolate, and odd pink stars that tasted like win. I could actually taste the things. ...I want that dream again. D: |

My dream last night started with me being outside of school, and my sister found a new way to get into school quickly so she didn't miss classes. She jumped into the third story building of the school (she called it Shadow the Hedgehog's jump) and it somehow ended her up right in front of the girls bathrooms. o_o Then my friend came in, and said he did the same thing, but with a different jump. After that, I had class with my American Gvt. teacher, and he asked the class "How do I get on a fanart site if it's blocked?" and I told him to use Anonymouse, and he went there, and said that he wouldn't use that because it would give out information about him to the website. I told him yes, it does, your IP, but even without Anonymouse websites get that information, it's just not logged now (This is dream logic, I highly doubt that's right.) After that another student suggested an actual website, and I was all D: WTF, because I didn't know you could suggest a fanart website or he wanted to go on a specific one and it was blocked. Next, there was a meeting of sorts in my room and it was raining. My friend stole my Wii and took it into my dad's room, where he said he wouldn't give it back, so I threatened him and he gave it back. Then I woke up. I think my dream recall is getting better with writing it down and such. I never remember my dreams two nights in a row. Or even this often. |

here's one from last night, don't know why I remember so much of it since not much actually happens. I got off the subway in New York, somewhere around 80th street in Manhattan (I've never been there, I just knew I was up in the 80s somewhere) and went into some musical instrument shop, just to browse. They didn't refuse me service for not wearing shoes or a shirt. They gave me the keys to their van, which I used to try to get downtown, but I got lost because all the streets lead to dead-ends. I parked somewhere out of frustration and left it there, but then forgot where it was. I tried to show them on a map the general area where it was, but the map didn't go up to the 80s. Then I was with my parents in a completely run down part of town, so run down that all the buildings looked like they were made out of rotted out.. what's that stuff called? The "wood" that's made out of compressed sawdust. No one was living there, and it was like I was in canyons of this stuff, but even though it was New York City, there was farmland nearby. Then somehow I was renting or buying some house on a farm an hour west of Northern Virginia (probably near my monk friends), but it was completely run down. There used to be an attic, but it was torn out or something. I looked up, and I could see that the roof was unfinished, it was just wood planks and I could see the sky between the planks and it was cloudy and threatenign to rain. There was loose Tyvek flapping in the wind everywhere. A friend was there and I told him this was a total jip and I'm running away from this lease immediately. (There was a TV on in there, which is strange because I don't own a TV and neither does he and we're both glad of that). Then a friend called who I never talk to in real life, and he said that this priest friend of mine's kid just turned one year old, which I demanded an explanation for because Roman Catholic priests aren't supposed to be having kids, and this guy doesn't even know the priest anyway. Then it was like his volume went way down and I couldn't hear him, so I hung up and just started watching TV, which was MacGyver I think. (OMG simulpost) |

I remember, because I had one for a millisecond. In the middle of the night I remember myself yelling to myself "THIS IS A DREAM!!" and I was there for a second, and I woke up. It sucks, I know. |

And it was funny because I wasn't planning on getting a lucid dream. Tonight I planned on trying all the techniques. Which I'm going to do. Except for WILD. I do not want to risk getting sleep paralysis. I think VILD will work best for me. |
